Lowest price of every outlet I checked. The birds really go for it.
This isn't just your standard suet cake for birds. They seem to like it a LOT, and this later winter cold certainly helps them. These cakes are loaded with grain and seed matter as well, which I mark as both a good thing and a bad thing. This is good as I see the birds who come to dine really like all of it. This is bad because the squirrels also like it a Lot, and put in every effort they can to get at the suet.Fortunately the squirrels don't get that much because of the strong cage style feeders we are using, but they do scrape out a little each time they visit. It's a real exhibit of nature in action. This is the best suet for our needs.

Year round food More economical that loose seed.
I use these year round in Georgia and the birds love them. Right now in spring the mamas are pecking off bites for their fledgling. Most species enjoy them...even the Cardinals manage to reach a few bites through the caged holder.

Took a while for the critters to like this!
At first no one would eat this suet so it sat in by basement for a while. I got a second feeder and did a little test and this suet did not get eaten as quickly as the other more expensive suet. Now, it's a hit and gets eaten quickly. Not sure what happened but I will buy it again.

SUET HAPPINESS
What a find! We are senior citizens and enjoy watching wildlife outside the window. Now we have a quail family, doves, and tweety birds to watch every day. They love the suet so much that it needs to be replaced every three days when the cage is empty. Thanks to the suet, we have enjoyment every day. I leave my window open and, at dawn, I hear an orchestra of birds outside while they are eating their breakfast. Life just doesn't get any better than that!

BIRDS LOVE THEM!!
Woodpeckers have to fight their way to these. ALL of our birds have taken a liking to them (except hummingbirds). They disappear rapidly, We started putting them on the deck railing (flat) so everyone would get a chance. It's a regular bird dance out there now. Such fun to watch. Beware of the pesky squirrels and raccoons, however. For raccoon problems, just take the cakes in for the night and back out in the morning.

NO FANCY PACKAGING
I've been buying items such as these from a local store, ... these were a bit more expensive but I ran out. My usuals are on sale for 8.00 for 8 items, usual price is 9.99. Found these, though a bit more penny wise per piece, I received 10 for a decent price all considering. The squirrels and starlings have having a field day on anything I've put out over my 3 cake feeders. Where I had the woodpeckers (Downies) before, even after a two day loss of feeder, they haven't been back. The starlings, sparrows, a few nut hatches have been at these, but few woodpeckers that were always here. Granted, it's early March, but something is missing, and I think it's the 'suet'.These cakes are very heavily seeded, ... with just enough suet to keep the seeds within it's cake. Woodpeckers are not great seed eaters, might be the reason they've been reluctant to hit these cakes. It'll be a bit before I'm sure, ... but at the present time, these cakes are better for birds that scrape by on finding foods. If one wants food, suet for 4 or so woodpeckers, ... I'd suggest something with a heavier suet content.I'll still use these cakes, ... but I'll definitely make sure I get to the store that carries my old brand that has a higher suet content than these under review. BTW: The 'woodpecker dough' is equally worth this review, as they aren't receptive to that product either. Sometimes the old used product is better than a change, regardless of the reason.
