children's book
Mucky Princess lived with the King (husband/father), & Queen (wife/mother).The servants had a hard time keeping up with the Princess when she got older. The King’s dog jumped into the bathtub with the Princess. The Queen (fussy) started to get on to the servants.1 day the Princess met a sheepherder (boy). They had a mud fight.Another day a man wanted to sell his gray horse. The Place blacksmith looked it over.Fast forward. The Princess was now 18.1 day she would inherit the kingdom.A very awesome book cover, great hand drawn black/white pictures & proper font & writing style. A very well written children’s fairy tale story (book). It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great children’s fairy tale movie, an animated cartoon, or better yet a mini TV series. It was just OK for me so I will only rate it at 4/5 stars.Thank you for the free author; Magic Umbrella Publishing; Amazon Digital Services LLC.; bookTony Parsons MSW (Washburn)

THE DIRTIER THE BETTER
This series provides readers with a modern twist on a common fairy tale. The protagonist is a princess who loves getting dirty. Every day the palace servants led by Hanna chase her around in order to keep her clean and tidy as a princess should be. The king and queen insist that she remain behind the palace walls and fulfill her role.As the princess grows she becomes more obstinate. One day she succeeds in getting outside the palace walls. She meets a shepherd and enjoys a normal life for the first time. He finds “mucky” clothes for her. Each day the princess meets him and quickly changes into clean clothes before returning to the palace. Eventually, she becomes friends with her subjects who nickname her “Princess Mucky.”When her eighteenth birthday arrives, the king and queen demand that she marries. The princess refuses to do so and the king and queen do something that surprises everyone in the kingdom. Will the princess decide to succumb to her parents’ wishes? What will happen to her preferred way of existence? The pencil drawings are simple and charming. They move the story along for beginning readers. The book portrays a traditional princess who has modern feminine values. Lots of humor, fun, and drama for beginning and middle-grade readers.

Enjoyed this thoroughly!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! The Mucky Princess is really her own kind of person. She resists her parents attempts to keep her as a perfectly clean princess. Rather, she enjoys getting mucky, wants to explore the world, meet new people (even in different life circles like the shepherd boy) and wants to change the world (she protects her palace staff who are perpetually at risk of being fired by her fussy mother, the Queen). I love how she keeps the relationship with the shepherd boy for years, sneaking out to meet up, getting mucky, and figuring out to change into her fancy palace clothes afterwards so her mom wouldn't notice and staff would not get fired! I love the chapter book outline, and they way Cleveland introduces the prince, changed into ugly over time by his wicked stepmother. If you grew up reading the well known fables, you might walk away disappointed that the Mucky princess didn't marry the shepherd. I wondered why her father, the king, was so quick to abdicate. I feel like there wasn't much explanation given. I also wonder how come she chose the ugly princess over the not-so-ugly (in my opinion) shepherd boy. This last bit was somewhat disappointing to me, but then again, that is real love (it rarely ever makes sense)! Overall, this is a great read! I love that the Mucky princess character is outside of the usual Princess character mold. Great job!I received an advance reader copy of this book in exchange for my unbiased review.

An enjoyable read
I got the book in exchange for a honest review. Everything is unusual about this princess who breaks the traditional mould and grooms herself into a fun loving, cool person with a mind of her own. Its time girls read about this princess who is confident and uses her mind to solve her problems instead of waiting for knights and princes.
