I really enjoyed Alison and Garrett's story. She is recovering from ex-husband's emotional mistreatment along with her son. Barrett is the mayor who is running for Governor, with all if the baggage that comes with it.

I will never look at grapes the same way again! I vote Landry
Oh dear Lord!!! The 🍇 scene was absolutely scrumptious! But let me get to my review.I’ve been following Adriana Locke for a while, but this is the first book I read of hers and, wow, did I get addicted! I didn’t want to work, shower, or even eat lol but, alas, I needed to do those things.Alison and Barrett meet while he is at an event, since he’s the mayor, and she’s working. Alison is a single mother who works two jobs and goes to school. She works for the catering company that catered the event. When she goes to offer Barrett champagne, their connection sizzled. It was as if the world stopped and they were the only ones in it. Because she briefly interacts with Barrett, her boss yells at her, threatening to fire her. Barrett gets wind of it and tells him off and proceeds to ask her to go on a walk with him. So they do 😉.As they’re walking, I could feel their hearts beating for each other- they are in deep and they had just met- and all it was was a simple walk where two single adults carried simple, easy conversations. He wants to keep seeing her, but she knows his type and his ladies’ man reputation, so she refuses and tells him that he’s the mayor, he can find her if he wanted to. So he does 😉.He orders food from the restaurant she works at during the day and requests that it’s her that delivers his food. When she shows us, sparks fly; however, he messes up- and now he needs to find a way to fix it. So he does 😉.In the background of their intense, raw, visceral chemistry, Barrett is running for governor and time is ticking. He needs to keep himself out of any negative press and make connections that will put his numbers in a positive light so he can be the next governor of Georgia. Alison knows what getting into a relationship with him might mean (plus, she has a past that allowed her to go through something very similar to what she’s going through with Barrett), so they agree to take it slow. Also in the background, allegations that might or might not be true when it comes to Barrett and his past relationships come to surface. Can they be strong enough to remain together?I adored this book. Barrett’s patience and understanding when it came to Ali’s hesitation was admirable, while Ali’s support and realistic expectations when it came to their future was understandable as well. And, damn, did Adriana throw me for a loop with that grape scene. I have read thousands of books and I have never read a scene with grapes, especially a delicious one like that one. Phew 😅 I’m surprised my kindle didn’t melt! Although the book isn’t full of intimate scenes, the ones that are in there are explosive enough. Overall, I definitely recommend this book!

Well written!
I appreciate the dynamic between Barrett and Alison, and the way Barrett's love for her and her son is portrayed. And I also enjoys the introduction of the Landry family and anticipates further stories about them.Overall, the reviewer found "Sway" to be an enjoyable, heartwarming read.

3.75 stars.
The H is the Mayor of Savannah but is running for Governor. He's amajor player and every woman wants him.The h works at a restaurant, caters part-time, goes to school in hope of becoming a journalist, and is a single mother. They meet at a party he's hosting and she's working there as a waitress. There's instant attraction on both sides but the h is afraid of getting involved with someone famous. She's leery because of her previous marriage and lets fear rule her decisions.I liked this story despite there being so much drama. The main characters were likeable and relatable. This book is good enough to read once. Not sure if I'd continue on with this series but the Landry family all seemed like good people.

Barrett and Alison
What a fun read! Barrett is Mayor of his town and running for Governor of the state. With his good looks, he charms all the women and has no problem hooking up until he meets Alison. Alison was once married to someone in politics and he screwed her over and dumped her and their son. She’s a little wary of getting involved with another politician but will Barrett be able to finally charm her and win the race? Read to find out!

Enjoyable read.
Barrett is running for governor and his campaign is coming to a close. He meets Alison at an event and he wants to get to know her. He has a bit of a playboy reputation never having any intention of settling down or being serious with a woman and so he is taken by surprise that she isnt interested. Alison wants to stay away from him, she has been hurt before by her ex husband and doesnt want the attention of the press that she knows goes with his job but when he promises he will take care of her she gives in. Thought the part that discovered what Nolan was up to was a bit weak.

5 Amazing Stars
Someone please tell me why it took me so long to read this book?!? This is now my second book by Adriana Locke and I can safely say it won't be my last. When I couldn't sleep at 3 am this morning, I downloaded the kindle app just so I could continue reading where I left off.Barrett Landry is the mayor of Savannah and is current running for governor. He has a lot on his hands while trying to keep everyone happy at the same time. So when he meets Alison Baker at a party, while she is waitressing, he is immediately attracted to and intrigued by her. She isn't like all the other woman who throw themselves at him, so when Alison finally gives him her attention, he flirts up a storm."She has creamy skin and splattering of freckles across the bridge of her nose. Her eyes are a dark blue the colour is stormy, swirling, moving like a shield between us."Alison is cautious, and rightly so since she's been humiliated and hurt by her ex-husband; someone else who was in the public eye. Even thought the attraction between them is off the charts, she is reluctant to take things any further with him. But she cannot deny her attraction to Barrett or the way he makes her body feel."Apparently you want someone that will bend to your will, jump, when you say so. And if that's what you want, try the girl in the red dress from last night, but it isn't going to be me."Barrett had a tough job on his hands with getting Alison to open up to him, to take things further, and to give him a chance. Whenever he started to chip away at her walls, something would put them back up. He was persistent and at times you could feel how much he wanted Alison. He was very driven and had a big heart. And although he didn't always make the right decisions, he always fixed them in the end.I loved Alison, she was so down to earth. Life dealt her some heartbreaking situations, but she still had a lot of fire and sass in her. I admired how she never let Barrett get away so easily. She made him work for it and she didn't just roll over and accept everything that he told her.Adriana Locke has a special kind of magic when she writes a book. She writes about such strong female characters and some very swoon-worthy heroes. She pulls you into the story and never really lets you go until she's finished.

Landry, grapes and everything nice! Another winner from Ms. Locke!!
What are you doing to me?" she whispers, her voice filled with as much need as is coursing through my body. I press my lips against her neck, right beneath her ear."Exactly what you thought I was going to do to you. What you were picturing in your mind when you agreed to be mine."This was just so freaking good. I loved it so much. And I kind of hate Adriana Locke right now because I have absolutely no clue how to review this. I'm all out of words.I guess I should start with the story. In short, and without reciting the synopsis, this is book one in the series and centers around Barrett Landry, a somewhat playboy politician who has learned to get what he wants especially with his charm and a smile and then we have Alison Baker a single mom working two jobs and studying and who knows what it's like to have everything taken from her. Both really are at opposite ends of the scale in life right now but that doesn't stop them from being pulled towards each other even if it's the last thing either of them thought they wanted or needed.'Every part of me is tangled up in this irresistibly handsome politician and I’m afraid there’s no way out. I’m really afraid I might not want a way out.'From reading this book all I'm left thinking is HOW THE FU-- DOES ADRIANA DO IT??!Here's the thing, the more books an author puts out and the more we read from them it's hard for similarities not to be there in each book, the similarities aren't even a bad thing, there's only so many ways you can portray a story or a character and yet, Adriana has a couple of books out and they're all different. Adriana has done the single mom book already and yet again this is absolutely NOTHING like the one before. Not the story, not the relationship(s), not the kid, not the dynamics. The writing and voices are nothing a like. I dunno I'm rambling lol! I'm just in awe of her talent, her writing and her delivery with each book.Adriana has some of the best female characters and Alison is high on that list. I loved her. She's tough. Not in a loud way, she just is tough. She's been through a lot and came out the other end. She's so strong and doesn't realise it. She's scared at times yet so brave and selfless. And she loves so fiercely. She didn't make things easy for Barrett and not in a hard-to-get way, not in a way because she's trying to be a badass, just because she needed to be careful and take things slow and because she was always thinking of her son. Their love is something else and the way she took her time with Barrett was so natural and right.Barrett, well damn. Not quite sure I was expecting him! He is sexy and smooth. What I loved most about him though is his character really went on a journey through this book. He learned a lot in many aspects of his life and he over came a lot. He's in a career where there are liars everywhere and he has to deal with sneaky people who all have their own agendas, he's trying to be honest and work towards being the governor, the best one he can be yet he has many people who have their opinions on how he should be doing things. And in the middle of it all, he's starting to fall hard and fast for someone when falling in love is the last thing he should be doing."So you'll be my girl? Even though you once told me I'm the exact person you didn't want to be with?""I thought you once told me you could spot a liar from a mile away."And I can't not mention Huxley. That kid is adorable and so smart and strong. A protector. He's too cute for words and his character fit perfectly into this story. This is a really sexy (grapes, people, GRAPES!!), funny and sweet book. It's actually quite an emotional (at times) story too. I teared up a couple of times because the emotion was something else, whether it was how honest Barrett and Alison were with each other, Alison and Huxley, Huxley and Barrett or sometimes just Alison and what she's been through. This book is an all around winner and I can't wait to get to know the other characters and see where Adriana brings them.

The romance was too cliched for me.
Sway is book #1 of the Landry Family series of contemporary romance.Set in America the story revolves around the election campaign of Barrett Landry and how he is sexually distracted by a waitress.Alison Baker is a single mum who has been suffered from media harassment in the past, so she is reluctant to start a relationship with a man who is already a media target.I thought the plot line was rather unbelievable as Barrett would have realistically been more focused on his political plans and Alison would have wanted to avoid a man like Barrett. I thought much of the romance was rather cliched, and it had me rolling my eyes in disbelief too often. Sadly, this became a DNF book for me.

Landry gets my vote
This was my first book by this author and my first political read.Barrett Landry is the playboy bachelor mayor, but he's sure hot with it. Now he's running for Governor his new campaign must come first. However, with a chance encounter with catering single mom Alison, Barrett is drawn to her, she is more of natural beauty than the women he's used to in his line of work. Alison isn't only different looks wise but personality too, so when Barrett asks her out on a date Alison declines - Barrett isn't used to hearing no from women.Barrett is faced with a challenge if he wants to see Alison again, but now he's intrigued and wants to get to know Alison, but Alison is scared she was burnt badly by her ex husband. Her insecurities, along with protecting her son Huxley, is terrified about being with Barrett and his stature, but can she see past her fears and give into Barrett and his advances? Will that be the only thing to come between the pair?We meet the other Landry family members which, will surely be featured in the new set of standalone series of which I love.I love these type of books and I can't wait for Lincoln's story. This one will leave me thinking of grapes.
