This is the second time I had to replace the batteries for my old Makita drill. The original OEM batteries only lasted a few years. I bought a single replacement battery in January of 2011, and have abused it regularly. Although it's still working well, it does seem to lose some of its charge after non-use. But that battery was definitely a worthwhile purchase. Why tell you this? It's an "Expert Power" battery, too. I am impressed.

I bought these because my old batteries would not hold a charge. These new batteries charge quickly and hold a charge well so far. No complaints and they seem to be heavy duty. The only complaint is the locking mechanism - it locks but you need to really make sure you push the battery completely into the drill and hear clicks on both sides, otherwise it may not hold. The fit seems slightly off but you just need to be careful, and otherwise this doesn't affect the performance of the battery.

Bought these batteries because I only have 1 real Makita battery left and I have other Makita tools to use. Do have to say these two 12v outlasted the 2 18v batteries I bought for my Dewalt cordless impact, sawzall and drill, not the best money I've spent. Guess I'm going to bite the bullet and spend the money to buy real batteries.

very satisfied with the purchase. i just have a question for anyone who bought them before... how long do the batteries have to be charged for before use? for a full charge? how many hours?

Fit drill and charger perfectly and brought new life to my 9 year Makita drills. Got 2 identical drills w/4 batteries as insurance replacements and although these did not see much more than household action all 4 batteries would not last for than 15 minutes. There are so many cool updated drills and sets all battery powered but for $60 I have 2 high powered drills again. Spending $60 every few years (if needed) is worth the performance value especially if you are partial to the drills. This is and upgraded battery not just any ole replacement and it's the same color as the old batteries just w/o the stickers. If short term usage of the batteries become negative I will update the review.
