Not sure how they determined this unit is 8 watts. I did side by side tests with a 3 watt, a 5 watt and this unit using a decibel meter. This unit was more like my 3 watt unit, and my 5 watt unit was clearly louder with better bass. I was really looking forward to this unit because it's the first 8 watt unit I've seen at this size. Also, the location of the controls located on the curved part of the bottom is awkward. And to make matters worse, the icon identifiers for those controls are molded into the curved black area, such that you literally can NOT see them. Poor design concept.12/11/20 UPDATE: I recently retested this unit and it sounded louder than I remembered. Somewhat louder than my 5 watt. Perhaps the input volume from the device I was using was not at a full setting. My apology. But the comments re: the controls still applies. I've upped my original review one star. However, this speaker is currently "unavailable."

I bought this speaker and ended up using it in my old diesel (very noisy) truck. Was very surprised of the excellent sound quality and base response even at the volume levels needed to be heard over the truck noise !I haven't really checked the battery life as it is plugged into the truck for charging - only slight drawback is its a little clunky to find the black-on-black logo for the power and press it in for the 2-3 seconds required to power it on or off.

This little speaker sounded great, and I honestly couldn’t believe it was only $20...for 2 hours.It will not stay powered on now. It turns itself off after 30 secs or so even with a full battery charge. I contacted customer service via email on their website but have yet to get a response. Will be returning and replacing with a JBL Go 2.

This is my very first Bluetooth device. Super user friendly. Sound quality is amazing. Use in my car a lot. Can listen clearly even with the windows down. Bonus works well as a hands free device as well.

Nice sound quality for the small size. It also works with an micro-SD card and Aux in. The battery life has exceeded expectations.

What surprised me the most was the bass response. I didn't think I would get such a nice sound from such a small device. Bluetooth connected immediately, the range was a little spotty through walls, but all I wanted was to be able to keep my phone away from where I was working with tools and making a mess so it was fine for my purposes.

Small and it plays LOUDLY with no distortion or crackling. I purchased it for travelling but is now my go to Bluetooth speaker for home use as well.

My husband uses this at work and loves it. Very good for the price.

Very nice item, very loud, connects easily and quickly and charges quickly. sound quality is great. Has a micro sd slot so you can play music internally and also has a wired connection, if you dont want to do bluetooth. My issue was that when set on our patio table in vibrated alot while playing music. needed to put it on some newspaper or something like that. But over all i like it alot

Bought for a friend, I have a JBL mini speaker I travel with. Saw this on Amazon, cheap, so I picked it up for her. She loves it! The price difference between the two says it all.Great sound, good bluetooth signal from a 75$ Samsung phone

Speaker is much better than expected for the price, a little on the quiet side but it makes up for it with much better sound quality then you’d expect for 20$
