Hour of Penance are poised to strike and devastate the ears of the loyal disciples of death metal once more with a merciless master class in brutality entitled Sedition . Unleashing a likely tour de force in maniacal death metal brutality, a celebration of music in its darkest and most inhuman form, Hour of Penance have ascended to an even greater height of precision savagery

A must have for any technical death metal fan
Hour of Penance at their finest. Brutally fast double drumming (on par with Fleshgod Apocalypse) and shredding guitar work make this an album for any technical death metal fan. And the vocals aren't something to forget either. Glad it was for internet radio that I found this band as they are now one of my favorites and soon will be yours with this release. If you thought their last album, Paradogma, was a great release you are about to be blown away. You've been warned.

More like 'half-hour'...
The headline is me just trying to be cleaver. I'm actually really impressed with Hour of Penance's release of Sedition.Sedition is a super fast paced, brutal example of the things I like about Technical Death Metal. The songs are very well written and the production is outstanding. The technicality of the riffs are almost demoralizing because they're so amazing. There are few negatives but I do find it hard to distinguish Hour of Penance from a couple other bands. The vocals don't change from the 'guttural' attack and it becomes just a little tiresome. The album clocks in at just over 30 minutes, so any feelings of boredom are soon vanquished.I like it and I recommend checking out Sedition by Hour of Penance.

"No one's left alive."
Honestly, when I heard that Francesco Paoli had left HoP, I thought that would be the end of a great death metal band. I figured their next vocalist wouldn't be on Paoli's level. I was fairly wrong. I didn't even know HoP was getting ready to release a new album until I saw, "Sedition Through Scorn" on a YouTube subscription. So I instantly gave it a listen. My mind was instantly blown. I knew right then and there that I was going to buy this album. When I finally opened it and placed it in my CD player, it was brutal. Every song was good, and the artwork is absolutely amazing, in my opinion. The new vocalist, Paolo Pieri, sounds really good, and fits right in with the music. If you want something that's really brutal, this would be a great choice. I would highly recommend this album to any death metal fan.Keep it brutal.

HolyCrap
Extremely heavy, extremely technical. If the drum track alone doesn't blow you away I don't know what would. Its hard to imagine the speed and ferocity of this band. You must listen to understand. You won't be disappointed. Album of the year contender.

Did someone say Demon Worship?
If this hardriving exteme to the core anti-christian movement is not for you? Then perhaps the annihilation and sending angels into oblivion is not for you. This music, I say music, while thinking it an egregiously awe inpiring hate serenade, is all that one could want in death metal. Loud as heck and I loath it, because the word love is not appropriate in this genre. All that one would expect, in variety of sound, and depth of perception from a genre which is usually quite flat and repetitive. If mars volta was the final word on loud psychedelic meanderings, then this is the final pronouncment of the end. Nuf said

Relentless brutality
To my standards, Hour of Penance and Fleshgod Apocalypse set the bar high when it comes to technical death metal.(especially BRUTAL death metal) - But Hour of Penance are far better and superior compared to FA, for good reasons. Back in 2010 they released 2 albums, "the vile conception" and the almighty "Paradogma." Both which are highly respectable albums, especially "Paradogma."(which wins the heart of brutal death metal loving fans by a long shot with every listen)For me, to surpass that album is highly unlikely. Then again, their follow up "Sedition," is well trailing behind. This album features different members, which isn't a bad thing, but the difference is noticeable seeing is how the drumming and riffs have become faster and more repetitive than ever before. Each song is so.... FAST. Seriously, the highlight of this album is the fact I feel only robots could do this....Italian, robots.. haha. This album is quite a follow up to "Paradgoma" and will leave HoP fans craving more in the near future. I'm Italian, and these guys make me proud of that...and, well, pizza. PICK THIS ALBUM UP, IT'S MANDATORY.10/ 10Rock on. \m/ (._.) \m/

Great Death Metal
While listening to this album Nile came to mind they are likely influenced by Nile and i cant help but make the comparison, this album is full of fast relentless drumming and technical sharp riffs and some great vocals i especially like the epic yell the vocalist does on a few of the tracks it adds some dynamic to the song but other than that short but sweet epic yell the vocals are mostly Low Death Growls which are really enjoyable it all comes together to make a fine Tecnical Brutal Death Metal album. The length of the album is about 30 minutes so its like a fast brutal thrill ride of riffs and crushing heaviness and ripping speeds. Recommended if you like Nile,Fleshgod Apocalypse, and basically if you like your Death Metal fast and brutal

geiler Death Metal
