Fast cutting, slow dishing, no soaking? Kind of crazy
In a world of limited stone selections when it comes to coarse stones, this is the best one I've used by far. I've traveled to Japan and brought back the imanishi pink brick 220 stone (which they told me to never use on knives), gesshin 400, nanohone 400, diamond stones, and about every other "fast cutting" course grit stone out there that you can buy. This one takes the cake. It feels a lot like the imanishi pink 220, which is rough, but this stone dishes at maybe 1/4th the rate. It's also harder so if you're doing a proper thin job on a knife and need to see where you're doing work, you can make very precise adjustments and see exactly where you're hitting. For any big coarse stone nerds out there, this is the one.

A good stone.coarse enough for basice chip removal.
A costly but good stone for light thinning or bevel creation.Needs to be maintained well as it can wear with excessive pressure or on soft and sticky steels.Cuts faster than it may at first appear.Good value for those that can afford the initial price .

Impressive 200 grit splash-n-go!
The Suehiro Dabado MD-200 is one of the best whetstones on the market for the price and size. This is my second MD-200, my first one has gotten thin already after restoring some knives. As far as splash-n-go is concerned. These will suck a bit of water at first. I let mine soak in water for a minute or two and it worked perfectly thereafter. These are great for newcomers coming into the sharpening game. The size is the largest on the market and the grit will help you re-profile any knife. I highly recommend these stones for anyone who wants a fast cutting true splash-n-go.

Really good stone.
Works great to cut a new edge. Will need some honing on a higher grit for a supreme edge. The splash and go type stone is amazing.

Worth Every $ , great feeling, larger surface area then other compareable products
I already own the MD100 #1000 grit model which i purchased from Amazon and wrote a review for. So i already knew this model would be nice and its wonderful . I did try another brand for my lower grit stone but i had to get this one , its just worth the extra cost imho , the large surface area is something ive become very used to. I couldn't stop think i was missing out while sharpening knifes so I purchased this one as well. The feel is very nice , great feedback and fast cutting. Originally the primary reasons i opted for the Suehiro Debado model line was the huge surface area to work with and it being a " splash and go" , no soaking required , just splash some water on top and your good. All of the MD series Debado stones are extra large. The LD Debado series are also a bit less expensive but normal / smaller size aside from that the LD and MD are the same in case that helps anyone. These stones are a bit more costly then other products i considered , however not that much more cost then comparable products such as the Naniwa Chosera model line. I decided the benefits are worth the cost for these stones , I will be using them for a very long time and will last me many years. When you average out how long these stones last plus just over an inch thick , I think it helps make the decision to purchase easier averaging out the cost over time. The included Nagura stone does well cleaning it without much effort. Suehiro sells larger cleaning stones which is a good idea and i purchased to make my life easier. The blueish/green color is appealing. 10/10 .I included some unboxing type pics as part of this review.

One of the best
One of the best if not the best coarse stone out there, cuts super fast, hard stone but still produces some slurry, stays flat pretty good and has a nice big surface!Would say it cuts faster than the imanishi 220 and doesn’t clog up like the shapton pro 120, pretty on par with the shapton glass 220 but with a little more slurry and a whole lot of stone.
