It works.
I decided to give this lens a try. I didn't want to invest another thousand plus dollars in a new drone, So I was going to try out a lens to fix the fish eye on the Hero 3+. The lens was inexpensive compared to the other GoPro replacement lenses I saw with different viewing angles. I wasn't sure if it would work. I was worried about the Ir coating and what that would do and vignetting, etc, etc. I took the old lens off and put the new one on, turned and turned and it finally came into focus. It did wiggle a little. That would cause it to go a little out of focus in any vibration. I used a little teflon tape around the treads and its tight in the housing and doesn't wiggle. The image looks sharp and I found myself using the modified 3+ more than my hero 5 on the last shoot. I haven't tried the modification on other GoPro models but I want to maybe get a Hero 4 ant try it. My drone will only hold a hero 3, 3+, 4. None of the later models will work and I don't want to invest more money on gimbals or a new drone just to get a flat image.

Compatible not the same dimensions as the original lens
Description says it is compatible with the GoPro3+.Technically it is correct, but the lens diameter is not the same as the original lens, and there is a gap between the lens and the outer lens holder of the GoPro.

Good lens but the front needs support read for information!
Why I bought this lens:This is not a wide angle rectilinear lens as I already knew those are more expensive. This lens was bought for an Akaso Ek7000 sports action camera. This lens has the same threads and will fit but there is an issue with the lens hood size as it is smaller so the front of the lens hood will micro wiggle if the camera is mounted on a bicycle for example. So you must add some foam material around be edge of the lens hood near the front. This will also have to be done likely on a Go Pro as well.Having fixed that no more videos of looking like the Earth is the size of a city.4 stars due to the fix you must do to support the outside of the lens hood . See pictures for how they lens looks attached.
