I bought EIGHT of these Malibu light kits this past summer. Within weeks, the first of these transformers short-circuited, MELTED THE PLASTIC CASE OF THE TRANSFORMER, and left black carbon charring on the stucco of the house! I was glad it hadn't started a fire. I replaced it with another of the same transformers, since each kit came with one, and I had extras. Now, a few months later, a second of these transformers failed, it turns on at the correct time, but then shuts itself off even when it's not supposed to go off... and turning it ON manually doesn't make it go back on at all. Now I have to take this one down and put up ANOTHER one. The lights themselves are gorgeous, the light they emit is great, very happy so far with the lights. But the transformers? These are JUNK, and perhaps even dangerous, given that the first one MELTED when it failed.

They flood the front walkway with light, with no noticable increase in my energy bill! I see some people had bad experiences with this system, but I've had zero issues, easy install, and great lighting.
