nice tray, sturdy and good size!

Well built tray, very sturdy. Weight adds some degree of stability making for easy carry when fully loaded and ascending/descending stairs. Not incredibly heavy, but not light and flimsy, either. The black finish is quality, may be rubbed off like any finished surface but uniform and does not appear to be cheaply applied.The surface is large, can easily carry an oversized plate, bowl, side dish and at last one beverage, plus flatware. The silver base appears to be an adhesive-backed foil; on one of my trays the tip of one narrow trace was folded back about 2mm, a severely minor detail most may not notice. It's possible that setting anything down too hard may result in slight permanent indentations in the foil.

I love the size and the style. However, the aluminum that makes up the tree branch pattern has, in certain areas, excessive glue on the edges, some "underneath" particles that cause small lumps in the aluminum (like lint under a cell phone screen protector), and there are many type of scratches. The box had been obviously re-taped and probably has already been returned once by someone else. The black tree branch pattern is actually cut into and through the aluminum into the raw wood underneath which is then painted with the same flat black as is the rest of the tray. This flat paint marks very easily. One edge of the tray already has a small dent in the wood. I tried to wipe out the bottom of the tray to remove some particles, but since the metal edge of the cut tree pattern is not completely smooth in all places, it caught on my towel. Any particles that are in the tray settle into the deep center of the cut grooves (branch pattern) and can only be removed by holding the tray sideways and using a brush to brush out the particles. My cloth would not remove them and actually ended up leaving lint on the flat black surface (it was a microfiber kitchen towel). The wood does not seem to be sealed with anything and if a liquid spilled into the tray it seems as if it would just sink into the wood. It's almost as if the entire inside surface should be sealed with something. I am trying to decide if this tray goes back because I am hoping that maybe the next one would have fewer scratches, lumps, and other imperfections. I could probably live with using a brush to clean out crumbs and most likely would seal the entire tray with a poly clear urethane if I had one that didn't have so many imperfections to start with.

I absolutely love this! I could not believe how beautiful it was when I opened the package! Great quality too! Looks good anywhere! It deserves a much better spot than the nightstand in my bedroom.

Very nice and well made. The metal center had some pits but it actual adds to the beauty. I have toss pillows on coach of trees that match this. The wood frame is ok, but could be of better quality. I use on ottoman has a coffee table top. Perfect.

Gift for daughter who will use as a display tray on her new coffee table..tray is a large size and could be used multiple ways.
