Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint (Artissimo)

I carefully researched this brand and milk paint in general before making my purchase and I'm so glad that I chose MMSMP! It mixes up very well, covers evenly and is very forgiving. I'd only painted one piece of furniture before my recent projects (two end tables and several old barn boards to use as shelves) and I'd never used milk paint. It is very easy to use, there is no odor (it does have a smell, but it's more like wet gravel and it disappates quickly). I water it down moreso than the directions imply because I wanted a stained look, not paint per se. However, when I was sanding/prepping one of the end tables, I encountered some severe venner damage that didn't patch well. So, I used some homemade chalk paint which turned out to be way too light and then MMSMP over that but in a 1:1 ratio and it matches very well with the other end table that was just sanded and "stained" with MMSMP. I would highly recommend this product!

Love Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint!Due note, that this paint requires MIXING with (preferably) an electric MIXER (and no don't use your Kitchenaid!)I think some people get grumpy because they don't realize this isn't "ready made" paint, it comes in powder form, which gives you the buyer, the ability to change the shade of paint. The color is a little different when you increase/decrease water. It's 1 part water to 1 part powder... and personally, I had a LOT of fun figuring out which shade I loved BEST. To get it darker and more rich required less water, and my desk I refurbished turned out a little lighter than the photo-- but I LOVE it. Truly I do. 5 stars. I'm a fan for life!
