Panasonic DVD-LS92 9-Inch Screen Portable DVD Player

I have nothing negative to say about this player. The battery life is great and saved me from going completely insane during a 5 day power outage last winter. Some reviews complain about the sound or the lack there of. It's not a 5.1 surround sound system, people. It has two jacks for headphones or ear plugs. My husband and I both used the jacks at the same time and the sound was awesome. If you do not plan on using these then you may not be happy with the sound quality or the volume level. But, I don't know if any other player on the market would be any different. I specifically bought this player to use during power outages or when we travel. My husband has even used it to watch movies in bed while I am asleep. All of which we would use the headphone jacks. The picture is awesome and I have experienced no problems with this player. It would be nice if it had a remote, but not a deal breaker due to the long life battery. I have not tested the player to see if it does indeed play for 11 hours on a single charge, but I do recommend when pausing the player for a break...make sure you turn the unit off to not drain your battery.

it is nothing like what I've read from other reviews, my biggest disappointment is the horrible picture quality which is beyond words, I'm from Australia, the reason I bought this is because of the price online in the US is almost half of what it retails for in Australia, and I have seen the same model in shops in OZ. let me tell you that it is not the same kind of product, I am adamant that what I have received is a counterfeit product from China. I know this because I have worked in the electronic retail for 15 years and now work at Customs, I know what's fake when I see one. The box print quality is not crisp, the content packaging is inferior ( definately not the likes of Japanese manufacturers), the feel of the product is flimsy. You know what? I can live with all of that, but not when the picture is pixelated rubbish, an absolute rip off from Amazon if you ask me. If this is the qualialy a genuine Panasonic product delivers, then you Yanks have got the cheap end of the bargain, I will stick to REAL quality from my fair dinkum local retailers in Austrlaia from now on. Another lesson learned buying crap online, just didn't expect it to be from Amazon.

I may rethink the packaging of a dvd player if I were you. I found it on the front porch. Had I known prior that it would not play hd dvds I would have rethought the buy. Its definitely used but does work. Sorry I had to pay that much for it. I liked the 91 version a lot better the sound and picture has a lot more quality. Unfortunately the battery does not fit the other unit which I had since 1993 only to have the battery die. I will keep searching for the 91 and this unit i will give as a gift, An expensive gift at that. Still wondering about the life on the battery. I used it plugged in.

I bought Panasonic DVD-LS92 9-Inch Screen Portable DVD Player because it has an external battery which can be replaced by the user. My first consideration was to buy a similar product from Sony in which the battery can be replaced only by a certified service. I find this option gauging as I have observed that Sony service often costs more than replacing the item. All the electronic companies are following the lead of Apple in service and replacement. We collectively discourage this process and buy only items with simple battery or other replacements. Soon we will be forced to bring even the CD and DVD packs to the dealer for opening. Where will it end. When we buy a gadget, we are the owner and we should have the option of parts replacement.The Panasonic DVD-LS92 9-Inch Screen Portable DVD Player is a good DVD player and I use for my weekly exercise. There is nothing exceptional about this product. I am only unhappy as I was charged an excess of $50 more than the U.S. price, even though C$ was at par. Where is the free trade? In addition, I will have to pay Canadian customs, value added taxes and provicinal sale taxes. I would have been better of to buy from a Canadian dealer than buying from Amazone.com.

This is the third time buying a DVD player and this stopped working right after our planned return timeframe. Amazon was great and willing to return, however the replacement was more and not prime eligible. Decided we needed to return it to Panasonic to fix.

Purchased the LS92 through Amazon Warehouse for around $80. It certainly, without a doubt, was worth it. We were traveling to Hawaii from the East Coast and needed something that had a long battery life. We watch movie after movie after movie - around 7 hours worth - and the battery still had not died. The picture quality is not what you might find on a $300-$500 player, but you're not paying that price either. It is good quality, not great - but well worth the price.The LS92 comes with a built-in rechargeable battery that gives you up to 11 hours of playback. It plays DVD-RAM/-R/-RW and DVD+R/+RW discs, CDs, MP3s, CD-R/RW discs and WMA files.The screen is pretty large at nine inches (9") and it pivots for free-style viewing so you can adjust the position. This was very helpful with two of us watching on a plane flight - we could adjust it so that we could see well. You can also adjust the screen brightness easily. Good buy.
