Max Dugan Returns [DVD]

This was one of my favorite movies during the 80s. Jason Robard is simply humorous and the plot is really good. Will have you laughing throughout the movie. I highly recommend this movie.

I enjoyed MAX DOUGAN RETURNS when it came out originally. I'm just st sooooo Sorry that it took so very long to be released in the U.S.!!? Anyhow, it has been completely & thoroughly enjoyed but myself, children and now my Grandchildren alike!!!Thanks for helping make Family Movie Night a Big Plus at Grandma's house!!!

Max Dugan Returns is a film produced by Neil Simon adapted from one of his original screenplays. It involves a widow who reconnects with her father after many years of estrangement. Although wary of her father re-contacting her after so many years, the widow lets her father stay with her and her son after he begs her to let him get to know his grandson. The humorous aspect of this film concerns the poverty-stricken condition the widow finds herself in and the potential aid her father can give her: He arrives at her home in the middle of the night carrying $683,000 dollars in a satchel, which he is determined to leave the widow and her son as his legacy, inasmuch as he claims he only has six months to live. The widow is torn between accepting her father's many, many gifts and other offers of help, and her desire to walk the straight and narrow path, as well as keep her son from being corrupted by the money and the gifts. Trouble arises when the widow begins to date a detective on the LAPD who becomes suspicious of the sudden improvement in the widow's fortunes. Max Dugan Returns is a timeless and delightful comedy. Just the thing to lose yourself in while you root for the protagonists to accept every good thing that has come their way.

I bought this movie because I liked some of Neal Simon story lines.

Si es muy buena pelicula, de buena calidad en video para los años que tiene de su grabacion. La recomiendo

1er film de Kiefer Sutherland, mais en fait on ne l'aperçoit que quelques secondes. Son père Donald est un bon acteur. Un film plaisant à regarder, sans plus.

Unless you are a huge Donald Sutherland fan, this more is not really worth watching in my opinion.
