Hericium (Lion's Mane mushroom, Hericium erinaceus) literally means hedgehog in Latin. It contains basic amino acids, water soluble polysaccharides and phytosterols called erinacines, potassium, zinc, iron, germanium, selenium, phosphorus and small amount of sodium. Current research suggests that Hericium promotes the "Nerve-Growth-Factor(NGF) synthesis.
