Koldfront WTC12001W 12,000 BTU 208/230V Through the Wall Heat/Cool Air Conditioner

Had these units for a year. They work excellent heating and cooling is beautiful. The only thing is they're a little noisy but other than that they're a great deal.

We purchased two new a/c units for our condo back in June of 2022. The a/c units worked well (though the remote controls were useless). Fast forward to May 2024, and one of the units would not blow cold anymore. We tried a number of trouble shooting suggestions, but nothing got it working again. So close to the 2-year warranty expiration, I figured contacting the manufacturer would be futile but did so anyway, despite my skepticism. After entering the info on the online customer support and describing the problem, I was surprised to get an email back saying they would immediately ship an new unit and pay to have the old unit returned to them. The new unit came two days after submitting the ticket. Other than the cost of another installation (which was less than the cost of what I figured repairing the unit would be), it was a quick and seamless process. I would definitely recommend the company based on the experience we had!

AC Unit works! Our old unit crapped out on June 21st (one of the hottest days of the year in the Mojave Desert!) Amazon sent us this one in 26 hours, I love you guys! I only chose 2 day shipping, so that was an amazing benefit!!! I was able to install the unit by myself in 108 degree interior temps... the packing was great, literally only 4 things I had to do.Install took 12 minutes (I timed it) although I did come back to it that night to reinforce it since it was vibrating fairly loudly.The unit itself is LOUD I mean... it's really loud. My old unit was from the early 90s, but this one makes it run for its money noise-wise. That's the ONLY gripe with it, the remote is awesome, it gets a room cold quick (even though it's still in Summer and hot as balls here) All in all, I am very satisfied with this unit, the power saver setting seems glitched though since it uses more power than just leaving the unit on. So be warned.

These are reliable and have worked great for many years. I tried another brand that promised some modern features, but when I received it, got a completely different crappy brand than what I ordered and it didn't even work. After that nightmare, I just went back to old faithful KoldFront! Never an issue!

I did not see a previous review from another purchaser about the compressor noise until today.. Wish I had!The compressor noise inside the room it’s cooling is awful.. I have a guest house on my property (420 sq ft)The noise outside is normal. Inside the building sounds like an industrial machine running. However the cooling power of this unit is unreal. You can set it at 72 and it is beyond comfortable.I just received it last week. I’m investigating a ‘compressor sound cover’ but at this point I just don’t know. I slept through hurricane hugo. I don’t think I can with this unit running...

Great unit, effectively and quickly cools either a large studio or small one-bedroom apartment! I had my building’s handyman install it, it’s QUITE heavy, but it only took him about 20 minutes. It’s a bit noisy so if it’s on and you’re watching tv, you’ll have to raise the volume or listen with wireless headphones. Comes with a remote control for easy temperature management, however, the remote has no backlight on it so if you’re in the dark you’ll need to turn on a light to use it. I’d advise to purchase some type of 3M product to align and hold the cord neatly under the unit so it doesn’t show. It’s pricey but we’ll worth the money! (PS - Please excuse the paint job, I haven’t finished with the trim around my walls yet, lol 🙏🏻😊🙏🏻)

It was damaged some on delivery. Back left corner was smashed in where may have been dropped on that corner. The foam packaging was all broken up. It was just frame corner where no working parts are. We purchased the exterior sleeve and all installed ok with some struggle due to the denting. I like the whole package and kit. It runs good so far. Make sure to lay flat 24 hour before running it because oil in compressor needs to settle. It's not as loud as the unit this replaced. Any fan unit will make noise unless you want to sit on a block of ice to cool off this is best option. We installed it in our Sun room 300 square ft all glass windows and cools down fast. It's a good unit and best value for hard earned cash $$$. Tried the heat during morning coolness and it is really fast and quiet. The AC is louder than the heat feature but I set the fan speed to low and it's better. Both features work well and the entire package is professionally done.4/21/2019 Add, contacted the seller CompactAppliance about the damage on delivery and all they asked me to do is send them pictures then they discounted the product after they saw it. I also had home security camera video of the delivery. They were very fast to respond and appreciated me letting them know about the issue.4/12/2020 Unit works great, there is some noise from the adjustable front vent as it vibrates when running. I put a pad stuffed under the vent and it seems to have stopped the vibration noise. The maker should look at that and redesign that vent so it does not rattle or vibrate when it is running.
