A children's book about being a bad sport (Help me be good)

This is a great book. It was a little more worn than I wanted, but a great story that teaches children how to act when they win and lose.

A bit preachy/ overly didactic with not much of a compelling story. Does not go much beyond telling one what to do or not do. My kids liked it enough though.

Book arrived on time and is a great book. The front of the cover was sticky and kind of gross but the pages were perfect.

the book is grate for kids that get in a mess or do not list.

In Being a Bad Sport the author gives several examples of behaviors that show a child being a bad sport and in about he middle of the book she points out how being a good sport can make others feel better when the lose. The last page states that we should treat others the way we want to be treated, which is a good opener to an open discussion on how the children in my classroom can apply the lesson in this story.

The "Help Me Be Good" series of books were the best lessons I ever learned as a child. I would go into my closet, in my quiet space and read book after book. They kept my attention and I truly learned how to treat people with respect. I'm 25 now, but I grew up on this series of books and they taught me exactly what they were aiming to teach. I'm grateful for them even now, 15-20 years later!Parents always tell their children not to do something without actually teaching them why-these books taught me WHY I SHOULDN'T do bad things and I am grateful. So grateful that I held onto the books as a teen. But I finally passed them down to my little cousins and they are the most well behaved children you will see. I felt so good reading these books because it taught me that good behavior is rewarded and bad behavior is frowned upon. Not only should your child read these books, but you can further teach them why they should be good and not bad.I passed them down to my cousins who passed them down to others. And I think they are still relevant. Definitely buy this book as well as other ones in this series of books! I learned and so can your child.
