Bolts would continue to come loose, eventually the entire shock fell apart.
Bolts would continue to come loose, eventually, the entire shock fell apart. I had to retighten the bolt on the gate but days later it loosens again. I tried thread lock, even finally welding the bolt to the gate.within a month the gas shock came apart. This shock is poorly made and too weak to properly handle the tailgates wieght.

Not worth the money
Broke the 2nd time I opened it. anchor didn't stay attached to the tailgate. I followed the direction to the T.

Tail gate shock system
This tail gate shocks strut system has worked out great for the gate on my truck now I’d have to worry about opening my gate and having it just drop open. With this shock system it open so nice and slowly

Works too well?
It’s an assist alright. Been on for just over a month and it for sure works as described. Almost too well. It can take 10-15 seconds for the tailgate to fully drop on its own...hoping it breaks in a bit.
