Member's Mark - Mucus Relief, Guaifenesin 400 mg, Expectorant, 400 Tablets (Compare to Mucinex)

This is my second purchase of this product. I take it everyday and it really does keep my sinus pressure down. The instruction say it can be taken 6 times a day. I will take it several times when my sinuses are acting up. An unexpected help was to my throat. I would frequently get a hoarse voice during the day. This product significantly reduces that problem I think by hydrating my chest area, which is the main feature adertised for this product.I do find the pill hard to swallow. I now cut each pill in two before I take it and that has resolved the issue. That is a very small price to pay for the benefit that I get. (I have trouble swallowing many pills. I think this pill is hard for me because of its roughness, it catches in my throat and stays there)Personally I trust Member's Mark products so I can not sympathize with another reviewer's concerns. And it is significantly cheaper than Mucinex!**** Update 8/23/2012The last shipment I got of this product is much easier to swallow. It has been smoothed and no longer sticks in my throat. I have recommended this product to a lot of people and they are all as impressed as I am.

I bought this item as well as the nasal decongestant as a replacement for a product I have purchased from Walmart in the past for year round allergies. Walmart could never keep the product in stock and it was much more expensive than the combined total of this and the other product. I was taking 900 mg (3 tablets-300 mg each) of the other product and had to drop it to 800 mg since each of these pills is 400 mg. It is working relatively well with my only complaint being that the missing 100 mg a day can be felt with a LITTLE more congestant but not a problem at all. The pills are not difficult to swallow, though they might be a challenge if you have difficulty with pills all together. There is absolutely no "after taste" when you take them.

I am a chronic sinus infection sufferer, and mucinex is the best thing for it. I just take one of these AM and PM and it seems to take care of things. The brand name is fairly pricy, but this is pretty reasonable.Updated - this will make you constipated! Make sure to take your fiber!

This product works great. I have severe allergies in my ears and my allergist recommended that I start taking a mucus thinner to help with the pressure. On my bad days I take up to 6 tablets/day. This was getting to be very expensive because I was purchasing this (another generic brand) from Walgreens. I was paying $20.00 for 120 tablets. So if you average that out, it was only a 20 day supply during a bad allergy season. I also gave some to a friend who had a bad cold and she felt so much relief, she ordered some for herself. By buying this through Amazon, I am saving so much money and would tell anyone else to buy it.

Good product and excellent replacement for the very expensive musinex. I have emphysema and they work well for me when taken as directed. .

Since you can apparently use guaifenesin regularly, it is great to take for chronic cold symptoms. Of course, it helps when it is as economical as this is.

Good product, good price

Good product at about .03 per pill verses .75 per pill of brand name. It is only 400 mg verses 600 mg brand name so it takes 3 to equal 2 of the brand name. That is .09 verses 1.50. Big savings. It is rapid release though so if you need the extended release you have to pay the higher price for the brand name.
