EXCELLENT Must Read Book About Milk ! Help heal your gut!
Absolutely EXCELLENT book! I read this and helped heal my gut and intestinal issues and change my life. It is very revealing and a sincere eye opener! I actually went and sourced my very own local goat milk and cheeses, kefir, yogurt and more, and I will never ever, drink that store bought stuff again. Thank you William Douglass for the absolute TRUTH, you are to be commended!!!

A STRONG DEFENSE OF "RAW" MILK
The term "raw" milk refers to milk that is sold and consumed without being drastically altered by modern processing techniques. This is unfortunate, since we think of "raw" as something disgusting or inedible. But in the context of this book "raw" is a 3-letter word that simply means "has not been pasteurized or homogenized." Dr. Douglas, with passion and wit, gives a devastating critique of the dairy industry, and shows why today's pasteurized, homogenized product really is "Frankenmilk." It is possible, and indeed profitable, for dairies to produce clean, healthful milk that does not have to be destroyed by processing. There are a number of dairies doing just that today, but in most states they must operate "under the radar" of power-grabbing public officials who would shut them down if they could. The dairy industry, engaging in what economists call "rent-seeking behavior," has almost driven raw milk producers out of business and has convinced everyone, including the consuming public and the medical profession, that raw milk is dangerous and unhealthy. So, under the guise of protecting us from ourselves, governments are literally robbing consumers of a clean, healthful supply of a very nutritious, nearly perfect food. "The Raw Truth About Milk" also convincingly illustrates why babies should not be fed pasteurized, homogenized milk or baby formula. As an infant, my granddaughter was found to be "sensitive" to milk and regular baby formula so she was given the so-called sensitive formula. I was shocked when I read the ingredients on the label. I wouldn't feed that trash to my dog! I could go on and on, but just suffice to say here that if you're interested in the best nutrition for you and your family, this book is a must. I want to thank Dr. Campbell for having the integrity to educate me and his other readers about what's really happening with our milk supply. After reading this book, I found a local "connection" for raw milk, and I go to a certain place every other Saturday, cash in hand, to get my "stash." It's like there's a drug deal going down or something! I am a law-abiding, God-fearing citizen, a pillar of the community, and all I'm trying to do is get my 2-week supply of this delicious, nutritious, beautiful stuff. Folks, let's not let the anti-raw milk zealots criminalize our supply of milk the way God intended it to be. And for goodness sake, find your own raw milk "connection" and start enjoying the wonderful taste of something you haven't had since you were a little kid eating at your Grandma's house!

It's much more than a book about milk
William Campbell Douglass II M.D. has a writing style that is captivating. He mixes facts with just the right amount of light humor to keep your interest. When I decided to read Doctor Douglass's book, "THE RAW TRUTH ABOUT MILK" I had already formed some false opinions about milk. Little did I realize that he was going to take me through the history of milk, some of which I have personally lived. It wasn't that I found out so much about milk that I didn't know but rather that I found out about so many myths that I thought were real. Doctor Douglass has put together a book that will stand the test of time and in fact it already has. When he presents his case for Raw Milk, he does so with facts that are impossible to refute. He even covers the spectrum from mother's milk all the way to soy milk. If you don't read another book this year, let me encourage you to read this one. I know you will be glad you did. I know I was.

The milk we use to drink
When I was kid, we drank raw milk. The milk we are encouraged to drink today is sterile and white in color with no benefits to our health. The book clearly explains what has happened to our best product thanks to the dairy industry. The good news is that raw milk stills exists and is available. Some dairy farmers have fought the good fight and won. If everyone truly knew the truth, why in the world would they want to feed their kids and themselves this current junk food milk. There is no redeeming value to the pasteurized milk of today. Thank you for the truth.

What is wrong with ignorance and stupidity for not allowing the sale of raw milk worldwide?
Best book about raw milk that I ever stumbled across regarding milk. I’m acquainted with Weston A Price since 1994 as well as Pottenger & most recently Aajonus Vanderplanitz.

Wow, a must read
Wow, a must read. I have always been pro raw milk ... tried to raise the kids on it as much as possible .. my wife and I use it exclusively every day ... as milk and we make raw milk yogurt which we have every day. My wife and I with few, very rare exceptions have not been sick, not even colds for decades ... Raw milk, all organic food!

All right but limited
This book has plenty of pretty interesting and thought provoking information about milk but some of the claims made are also pretty out there as to require further substantiation which is not given. It is pretty entertaining as it is designed as an over the place hodgepodge but certain topics that I was hoping to find were not covered at all including what dairy one should consume, if at all, if only pasteurized is available to you. The information on goat milk versus cow milk is also relatively incomplete and the book lacks much information concerning milk and auto-immunity and information concerning lactose digestion. The style also gives the impression that this guy is a snake oil salesman even though I agree with most of what he says. Maybe part of it is that I don't think he's funny and got tired pretty quickly of all his footnotes which were nothing more than insults at the government. William Douglas is certainly a character as, in addition to supporting raw milk, he also supports tobacco smoking.
