A mesmerizing toy. It spins so smoothly, there must be some ball bearings in there.

I chose size large and color grey and I'm happy with the purchase. Obviously the main draw is the visual effect, which is easy enough to initiate, but I wanted to highlight some aspects not mentioned by other reviewers. Things to note: - It has a matte finish and looks great. It doesn't appear to be a fingerprint magnet, unless perhaps you're a greasier than average person. - Spinning effect duration is very ample. I gave it a solid spin and timed it at 5 minutes! Average spin time is probably ~3 minutes, if you're not going for gold - The bearing is whisper quiet. I have to get pretty close to be able to hear anything, so ambient noise should easily mask it - The base has a rubber coating, helping it to stay put while also dampening rotational sound. - Mine came with a carrying case for some reason (pictured) I can't see using it for this toy unless you have it at work and you suspect one of your plebeian coworkers might steal it out of jealousy. But seriously, it could make a nice carry case for something else more useful. The negative reviewers must have received some knock-offs or they're unable to produce average hand rotational force. I'll be sure to update my review if this thing falls apart or catches fire from a cheapo bearing.

Yes, It's mesmerizing kinetic desk toy,my family love it. The entire toy is metal and made of high quality. The color of the toys is very even and beautiful. The most amazing thing is that the bearings of the toy are also great, the rotation is very smooth and quiet. There are two ways to spin, one looks like rising and the other falling. I like to fall slowly. With very little effort, it can rotate for about 75 seconds. The helix on the surface of toy seemed to slowly drill into the table. It only takes a few seconds to see its decline calm down and feel much good. It is a good companion for stress relief. My children like the rising spin, and I know they like passion. They spin it very hard, with a spin time of over 180 seconds. If there is enough power, I believe it can spin over 200 seconds. Awesome toy, I bought another one. Ready to give it to children on Christmas. Yes, they will absolutely love it.

The ball is solid, nice looking, fun, but the spin time I was expecting was about 120 secs according to the page, but I am lucky to get a full 60 seconds record is 84 sec. And to get that to work I have to really torque on it. I can tell it is not real smooth spinning because I can hear it chattering as it spins Update: I was contacted by the seller and they generously offer to replace my sphere. So I have to give them another star for the great customer service.

Love this grey kinetic desk toy. It now sits on my desk and makes a great decoration and conversation starter. You can use it on your desk or any flat surface, even the palm of your hand if you hold it flat. It is very fun to play with. The very first spin almost went three minutes. The bearing of toy is really smooth, also it has a good amount of weight to it. So it keeps spinning for a long time once it starts spinning. It would make a good and unique paperweight for that reason too. I will buy another fidget toy to put in my son's stocking on this Christmas. He loves fidget toys which with shiny and magical looking. It is so satisfying to watch. Very pretty to look at, even when it is not spinning. I believe it will be the best Christmas surprise for him. Highly recommended！A great gift for others.

The bearings inside make noise while spinning. Does not have a metal base as shown in the pciture, it has plastic base, which probably also readuces the time it spins Does not rotate for 2 mins as claimed. Not returnable as well! Overall a flimsy build and absolutely not worth the price btut you can use it as a small paper weight
