Good Cable: Spectraflex Vintage Series - Tweed [18 Foot]
This instrument cable has the same specs as the Spectraflex 'Fatso' Instrument cable: - 39 pF/ft Capacitance - 20 AWG - "Ultra-Pure Copper Center conductor" - 100% Copper and conductive polymer shielded coverage - 18 foot length (includes the connectors) - Gold plated connectors; rubber coated covering - Nylon over-braid jacket - Made in AmericaIf there is one spec you want to look at, and it appears most testing supports this, it isthe 'capacitance'. The lower number is a better spec for your instrument cable. Thecapacitance for this cable appears to be about average from what I have seen. Anexample is the the Lava 'Magma' cable which has a 29.5 pF/ft capacitance. The one visual difference between this and the 'Fatso' is it is much more slim. Makessense, I suppose if one goes by the name alone. I found the 'Fatso' a bit more difficultto coil though. This applies to the 'Vintage' cable as well. Again, the simple black rubberjacket of the Lava 'Magma' cable is easier to coil and does not bind up as easily as theSpectraflex nylon braided cables. Depending on how much you move about the stage orstudio will depend on how your cable will respond when its ready to be stored.I do like the looks of the Spectraflex and I have had no problems with micro-phonics orany interference type. So far. These appear to be well made cables. The outer braidedcovering is holding up very well over the past 3 years. I have seen no separation orfraying of the covering. So far. I am not on stage 7 days a week either, with people andequipment walking all over them. So keep that in perspective when buying instrumentcables.I gave this cable 4 Stars due to its level of difficulty in coiling and average capacitancerating. For the casual player it , for the money, it is a nice looking, well built instrumentcable and if looks are important grab this one. I have to say, it does go nicely with myTweed Tele case.

Pretty good cable at a decent price great customer service
2 of 2 orders Had a shipping issue that the manufacturer resolved smoothly and quickly. That is how its supposed to happen when something goes wrong. UPS lost or destroyed the package. Spectraflex was all over it and shipped me a new one immediately. Nice cables too.

Wow!! This cable is phenomenal!
I didn't even get get asked to write a review for this but had to come say something. I never quite believed the whole thing with cables making a big difference in your sound until I got this cable. I got it as a gift, asked for it because I wanted a vintage looking tweed cable with right angle plug to go with my vintage looking P-Bass. When I used this the first time I couldn't believe how different my bass sounded. This cable opened up the sound in a way I had never heard before. The only way I can explain it is as if compared to water going through a garden hose versus a drain pipe. I never realized how constricted my sound was before using this cable. This thing opened up my sound to a fuller, richer more expansive sound. I truly believe the cable makes a difference argument now!! I can't recommend this cable any possibly more. And yes I was using a high quality brand cable before. Unbelievable!!

Great Cord
I have had this for over a year now and have not had any problems with it. My cheap cords I bought before I was always getting pops and crackles and since getting this cord I have not had a one. I play in public at times and I didn't want to have to deal with pops and crackles. I have played several gigs and lots of practicing at home and haven't had any problems yet.. The gold connectors are definitely the way to go. I like the 90 degree angled connection also as I am sitting down when I play all the time so I plug that part into my guitar and don't have to worry about bumping the stem sticking out when I am moving around. This has worked great for me. I wish they weren't so expensive as I would have several of them but if you can afford it if nothing else for your guitar then it is worth it so you can have a nice clean sound.

Excellent Cable
~ I purchased the 14 foot brown version of the "Vintage" cable. Love the old time look because I actually remember lamp chords that looked like this.~ Cable is efficient (in fact the sound is even slightly louder than the 10 foot cable I am replacing), the sound is clear (no noise when the cable is moved), the sound is true (no apparent emphasis in any particular part of the sound spectrum) and the cable lies flat on the floor without curling.~ I doubt that I can hear the difference between the gold fittings that come on the 'vintage' versus the regular stainless steel fittings on the 'standard' Spectraflex cable, but I bought the 'vintage' model because I preferred the look for a few extra bucks.~ There are a multitude of colours and styles available from Spectraflex that are not listed by Amazon, but the price available from Amazon's supplier cannot be beat. Recommended.

Really worth the bux..
big believer in the cable from guitar to amp is as important as pickups and amp. I have good cables, medium cost, Admit the reviews got me curious .. so I purchased a 14 foot length. I like everything about this cable. 1st and foremost, could notice a change in sound immediately. really a big difference. with my guitars a class A amp. The cable doesn't twist or bind and if your into it, its a nice looking cable. . Ends are secure. Very happy with this cable and would advise purchasing a length. Its not often you make a purchase that is better then expected, this is what happened with this purchase..

The tone on this vintage brown 14' cable is far better than its predecessor
This cable replaced my 18' Spectraflex original cable that was my only go-to guitar cable for 20 years before it finally died. 20 freakin' years! The tone on this vintage brown 14' cable is far better than its predecessor. Also, the right angle fits nicely in the jack on my '83 Strat Elite (same location as where Fender puts it on Tele's).If I can expect to get another 20 years out of this new cable, then I'll be completely brand-loyal to Spectraflex cables going forward. Couldn't be happier with the tone and longevity!

Nice cable
I'm comfortable with it...no hiccups so far and I love the look. Less $ would be great.

Unbeatable
The ONLY cable worth using. I have had many different cables over the decades of playing and at some point they have all ended up in the garbage can but my original vintage spectraflex is still going strong over a decade later and they look great too.
