Strong smell! Great for training!
My dg will listen to all of his commands as soon as he sees or most likely smells these treats. I feel good to give him all natural and healthy treats. My trainer uses this brand as well. She had the beef but I’m using the Salmon ever since his diet is Pet Plate beef and venison. I put a few pieces in a zip lock bag when going on walks. Other dogs try to get into my pockets 😄. I haven’t met a dog yet that doesn’t want these. They do have a very strong smell but it’s salmon so it makes sense. Great product!

Healthy treats your pet will love
I was I introduced to Stewart's freeze-dried treats by a dog trainer who raved about them. They are one ingredient, and even my Pyrenees who is not food-motivated will work for these.I'm a volunteer at my local shelter, so I take these to events to show people how easy it is to train dogs to do what we need them to do. I have never found a dog unwilling to work for these smelly wonders. To humans, the smell may seem overpowering, but that's why makes them yummy to our furbabies.I feel good knowing that they are just freeze-dried fish: there are no yucky ingredients in here! My tip: buy several kinds and mix them together in tubs to keep your pup motivated and offer variation for their diet.

Excellent healthy treat choice
I don’t agree with a lot of the complaints I read about these. Yeah, there are some small pieces, but so what? They can’t just have all big pieces. It’s good ingredients. I just give a small handful each time. The bucket lasts quite a while. I don’t think it smells weird like some people said, but I eat a lot of fish and salmon myself, so maybe I’m used to it.Sockeye salmon is one of the few non-farm raised fish with high omega-3 content. This is one of the healthiest treats you can give your dog.

Terrible chemical smell
I buy a lot of flash frozen salmon for my cats. It's described similarly to how this is- with the only ingredient being salmon and that it was flash frozen. So I bought a container of this thinking it might be nice to give them a different brand of it... Especially since it was in a little tub and they can open the plastic bags. However, when I got it and opened it, it had a terrible smell. It smelled a bit like medication... Like when you get prescribed one of the really strong antibiotics? That's the only way I can think to describe it. It didn't smell like salmon.Amazon was kind enough to give me a refund. I Don't know if something just got into the vat of fish that the company doesn't know about? That's one of the main reason I'm posting here so they'll see it and check on what's going on with their fish. With the other posts here, I can tell it's normally good. So here's a heads up as to an issue that is going on at the moment.

Had a problem with one order, otherwise great and my dog loves them
I was using salmon treats from "A Better Treat". My dog walker told me about Stewart's product, which was much cheaper. I tried it and was really happy. Far less expensive, appeared to be basically the same thing and my dog loved it. Moreover, the size of the pieces was generally larger, which my dog liked.Note that with one tub the contents were broken up into (mostly) tiny pieces which werent effective as treats. In the bottom of the tub was powder and pieces so small that it was basically meal-topper, not treats. Fortunately, customer support at Stewart's was responsive and sent me a replacement. Since then all orders have been fine.[Note that this is an update to my prior review that I wrote after receiving the problem tub. Edited to note that all other packages have been fine.]

Great treats, just very smelly
My dog absolutely goes wild for these treats! She’s on a salmon-only diet due to allergies to most other meats, and these are perfect—they’re both delicious for her and easy to digest. One thing to note is that they have a very strong salmon smell, so keeping them in an airtight container (the one they come in works well) is essential. On the bright side, the strong scent makes them fantastic for training, as dogs can quickly pick up the smell and respond enthusiastically.

Beware
These are real dehydrated salmon with the skin on which is VERY VERY tough. The salmon is freeze dried and flakes easily, but the skin is so tough that my small dog with an overbite choked on it. She LOVES salmon so I mix these in with her refrigerated food to get her to eat, but I have to go through the large pieces and remove the skin so she can enjoy them. Just be careful when giving these to small dogs.

My son recommended this brand. I bought it for my friends dog. Good product, bought the Salmon, has a strong Salmon scent. Comes in small pieces. Will recommended it.
