My Holy Grail exfoliator!
This has become my Holy Grail for exfoliation! I have tried just about every facial scrub/exfoliator you can imagine, from low-end (St. Ives) to mid-range (Paula's Choice) to the highest of the high end (Le Metier de Beaute--which will cost you about $50). Out of all of them, I can honestly say that this is the best scrub I have EVER used and can't say enough good things about it. I also hope this works for anyone else who tries it. In fact, it even works better than the most expensive high end exfoliators I've tried (which can sometimes be too perfumy). I don't have major skin problems like rosacea or anything like that, but don't kid myself that my skin is perfect either. I'm of Asian descent and have skin that is pretty even in color overall. Yet even in my 30s, I still get mild acne once in a while and my skin can be sensitive/combination--very oily in the T-zone but has dry, dead skin in the cheeks and around the jawline. I have only used this for a few days but this exfoliator is already smoothing out those dry areas. I don't promise any overnight miracles, but over time, I think it will help my skin out. I'm also excited to finally find an exfoliator that is gentle, and smooths my skin without drying it out or irritating it. It is still a scrub, so I wouldn't use it every single day, but two to four days a week as suggested on the instructions.I am slightly puzzled by the name, though, when I don't actually sense papaya in it. The name is a misnomer. It actually smells more like oatmeal than papaya to me. It's a nice and sweet scent, without being overpowering or cloying. I think of it it like a nicer, smoother and higher end version of St. Ives or Aveeno. My only (minor) complaint is that they don't give you a whole lot for the money. The 2 oz. bottle is very teeny-tiny. However, while it isn't exactly cheap, it's also pretty reasonable compared to some other high end brands out there. For these reasons, I highly recommend this product.
