I was in a quandary on weather to give these three or four stars and ultimately settled on three. As far as product quality and design they are very much a four star pair of fishing pliers and I am happy with the purchase. I would buy them again if they go overboard but hopefully that won't happen. I bought them primarily because they are made of aluminum and in a salt water environment even stainless steel can have a little corrosion whereas aluminum typically won't. There is a trade off though and that is because aluminum is a much softer metal than steal and depending on your use this could present a problem. If you are using these to take a hook out of a fishes mouth or opening up a split ring it will work great. If you are closing the open eye of a 4/0 hook they will not work for you. The metal is just too soft and the pliers bend, which means they no longer line up and won't close all the ways.Overall these are good pliers and as I already stated I would buy them again but just know what you are going to be using them for and if a softer metal will work for you, especially because they won't rust then this will be a good purchase.How I review:When I review a product said product automatically starts with four stars as I rarely will purchase anything below four stars. I then add and/subtract stars based on certain criteria as listed below.1. If an item is exactly what I expected and nothing more it will receive a four star rating2. If an item surpasses my expectations it will gain a star (5 Stars)3. If an item goes slightly below my expectations it will lose a star (3 Stars)4. If the instructions for the product (if needed) are poorly written (hard to understand due to language issues or grammar) or just too hard to follow it will lose a star no matter if the product meets or exceed my expectations5. If a product is significantly below my expectations I will deduct two stars6. It will be rare that I would give a product one star since I buy mostly items that have a 4+ rating but in rare instances there may be a good reason that even a four star product receives a one star rating from me. It could be because of customer service issues from the company but whatever the case is I will clearly explain my reason for giving a product only one star

Great little tool to add to my tackle box. Super light but I used to to cut through 65 and 30lb braid, and 30, 20, 10, and 6 fluorocarbon and it slices through all clean and easy. Used it to pinch on some quick shot to my kids line and it works well. Best part is the look and feel though. Love the red and aluminum mix and it's comfy in my hand. Don't use them to replace a normal line scissor cause their all the way at the bottom of the pliers but overall really nice addition.

I really like these since I got to use them, handy pouch I mounted on my kayak, slip them in and out with ease. Spring keeps them open, nice grips keep you from dropping them when your hands are wet. Nice when dealing with toothy fish, getting a hook out. I was able to crip a wire leader with ease and cut line with them also. Will not rust.

My husband was very pleased with this surprise purchase. He asked me to order another pair of fishing pliers, but in checking them out, I wasn't all that impressed with them. I looked just a bit further and found the STRIKEBAIT aluminum fishing pliers and liked what I read about them. The ratings and comments from others, the brand name, the ability to cut all fishing lines [including the heavy braided lines], the extras included [case and lanyard], all made this product more appealing to purchase. My husband was really happy with this setup! He appreciates the quality and workmanship and the fact that they really do cut those heavy braided lines!

great set of pliers for the price. has many features that are actually useable. i love that the cutter isn’t on the handle but in mouth part. we will see how long the grips last. seems like rubber to metal never really lasts long unless it’s wrapped around fully. so far no issues though. I’m not sure if the carabiner is plastic, but it is very lightweight and cheap. I would pay a little more for a better carabiner.

Wish they had a hook cutter on it. Besides that being missing over great little pair of pliers.

I set out to fish recently with these pliers. Unfortunately all fishing access where I go has been closed due to the COVID-19 virus. So these pliers remain untested for now. However I am impressed with the construction and the feel. I hope to be able to use them soon.

Only used it once so far but very handy and a great line cutter for a pliers.
