Winner in Chicago!
Edit: Wow! I’ve never seen a caladium flower before! These bulbs were gorgeous all year, and have kept their bright colors through September here in zone 5b ———————————— I was hesitant to buy bulbs from Amazon, especially from a non-Prime seller. However, they worked out GREAT this summer! Each raised planter in front of my house has 5 bulbs. Some didn’t grow at first because I couldn’t tell which side was up on some of them and the evil squirrels kept digging through my planters and knocking the bulbs out or leaving them on top of the soil to dry out. After 20+ replantings they finally started to grow. I’m still getting new leaves every few days. They’re bright with more red than green, and keep their red color. They don’t fade (at least not yet) so I don’t have to deadhead them or do anything but water when the soil is dry. Once established they don’t seem to need much water either. Mine are in full sun for 6 hours and dappled sun the rest of the day. For companion plants, something low and vining like a sweet potato vine work well, as would something very tall. Lemongrass wasn’t tall enough. These plants get to roughly 18” high and 6 to 8 inches wide. They crowded out geraniums and a few other moderate height annuals I tried in the containers. Next year I’ll just stick to caladium, a few vines and short bright plants, maybe in a white color. I’m very happy with these bulbs. I hope they overwinter well in my garage and grow again next summer. If they come back, they are a great investment.

Pretty
These flowers are beautiful! Took some time to grow so be patient. All of my bulbs were healthy. Will definitely purchase more.

Caladiums growing very well
It took a while but they're finally coming through nicely. I saw a lot of bad comments and hesitated initially. It took about 3 weeks before I saw the shoots coming out (I peeked and saw roots came out after a couple of weeks). I'm looking forward to seeing these throughout the summer! Update 7.6.2025 These are really growing nicely! Great color in the pot that's filling up. I put a few more that were started in a pot into the ground, so we'll see how that works out soon. Still pleased with the purchase.

Should weigh the cost vs a garden center with actual plants
Took quite a while to emerge, and only 50% came up.

Bulbs for planting.
Planted these bulbs in sandy soil in pots in late June. The weather was cool and I wondered if they would grow. July came in hot and all the bulbs produced! They like tropical weather and it's been hot and humid here in Missouri! The plants are lovely and have produced flowers, too. Very pleased with this purchase! :)
