Sparkle Lamp, 13-Inch, Black Base Purple

.Just needed a little color in a dark room - I have the pink one and a blue one - both work wonderfully, on a timer that turns them on and off in the evening. Very fast to "start sparkling" (not like a Lava Lamp at all!) and bright, sparkly light. Fun!!

The color fades with each use.

I'd seen the previous reviews that mentioned the color fading. I hoped they were isolated incidents and ordered anyway. Less than a week later and my lamp is almost colorless.To start with it was a deep, rich purple, but it was curiously white at the bottom, as if the light bulb was too bright for the dye. The white area slowly expanded upwards, while the remaining purple lightened and lightened. Now it's clear with a hint of purple in the upper-half. I suspect within the next few days it'll be completely colorless.Not worth returning for the price. It's a shame really, because the color did look really nice to start with. I might attempt opening it and finding a compatible water or oil-based dye to recolor it.Update: Strangley enough, when the last traces of purple faded, it left behind a light blue at the top. On the next on cycle, it distributed this color throughout and now my lamp is a pale turquoise color, with the bottom being colorless like before.Update, part 2: Blue is completely gone now, and the lamp is white-yellow.

The glitter lamp is very cute and we were very excited to use it. Within a few days the glitter had all fused together into little clumps. We are returning it now.

I think it is cute. I got it for my daughters room. I gave it a 4 just because it actually doesn't look like the picture. Its base and top is black not silver. Its not a big deal to me.... but I could see if someone was trying to coordinate a room by colors or whatever... it might be nice to know that. It came in fast. I would buy it again..

It is what it is, works perfect.

Granddaughter plugged it in and doesn't want to turn it off. She does have a regular lava lamp but she prefers the sparkle lamp. She's a teenage 12. Something that sparkles is a favorite...duh.

Cool item just doesn't put out enough light and not to mention it gets really hot, so you really can't leave it on all night.
