Somfy Ondeis WireFree RTS Rain & Sun Sensor (9019617)

An Immediate response to submitting purchase, and delivery 4 days ahead of promised. Also packaged appropriately for a product with sensitive electronic components in a decent size box. A pleasant purchase experience.

Somfy refuses to honor their 5 year manufacturer warranty. The rain sensor will not hold a charge even when it receives more than 12 hours of sun a day. Then, a Somfy powered awning will retract every hour like clockwork because it cannot communicate with the rain sensor. Even worse is that you need to completing reset the awning to remove the failed rain sensor from the awning’s memory/programming. Worst customer support and product that I have ever purchased via Amazon.Seller replaced product 2 times. It finally worked for a few weeks. However after a month later it started causing the awning to retract every hour. The solar panel is insufficient to keep the unit charged. Complete waste of money and Somfy provides NO support.

I have had two of these RTS rain sensors and both failed within three years. Batteries are soldered to the board and are not replaceable. Nice while it works but hardly worth paying nearly $300 for two years of service!

I have a free standing sun setter awning in my driveway( Bolted to the driveway) and, this product closes the awning when it rains. A heavy rainfall could destroy the awning if it is not retracted at the onset of a heavy rainfall........this product works exceptionally well!

Incredibly easy to install, wi-fi, charge free, outdoor use, works perfect.The user manual says you can only roll-in under rain, but you can also program to roll-out when rain starts by using the window-blinds mode.Friendly criticism; needs an o-ring around inside the hatch cover to increase humidity resistance.

The rain and solar sensor broke after 1.5 years. It is no longer communicating with Awning motor. It is powered by solar and has no user replaceable parts. (My background is electronic engineering). Called Somfy support and was told the Somfy will no honor warranty on Amazon purchases. The seller "RetractableAwnings" did not respond to my inquiries. Bottom line: DO NOT BUY SOMFY ON AMAZON

The rain sensor part of the device worked exactly as expected once I got it paired up with my remote. I only wish that I could find the correct remote that would allow me to program the sun function of the device.
