Does it work - Yes. 100%. Worked right away and the SD / 5D code went away because everything was spinning correctly.Installation - The new inner module will be tight. In fact, mine was very tight. However, this is not a problem. I took the old one, inverted it and used a rubber hammer on the old one on top to simply tap the new one down the shaft. Not a hard hit, just soft taps. Prior to that I did a basic coat of WD40 as well. Does not take long to get it into place. The top piece does align with the screw holes. If it does not line up right away, rotate it until it does.Post installation - If you are at this point you know there was a lot of black goo. Run the dishwasher in its cleaning cycle. I ran mine with a cleaning tablet to get it clean.

a little tight but fit

Bought this to solve the 5d (Sd) error code on a Whirlpool Cabrio Top loading washer model WTW8200YW0. The inner gear was, as some reviewers noted so tight I had to copy the technique suggested of using a rubber mallet and the old part on top of the new part to "gently" pounding it onto the spindle.I was really upset when I received the kit and on my first attempt to install it I thought I was going to have to send it back and wait on another order (more days without a washing machine). Fortunately, I re-read the reviews and discovered that others had posted the rubber mallet install trick. I deducted stars for the installation aggravation. Blue Star should have better quality control in it's manufacturing.I don't know how I will ever get it off again if it has to be replaced in the future. However, for now, the washer is back in service - I'll worry about a future repeat failure tomorrow. YMMV.

Replaced worn out part and was a perfect match

Okay. This is the third time we have replaced this part within the last year and 1/2 or so. I'm not sure if this is the washing machine makeup or if my kids are actually stuffing it too full and causing the part to wear out. We have bought the same part all 3 times, but this time from another seller. We will see how long this one lasts - I would say they have been lasting about 6 months. The thing is, you don't know until it just stops running all together. That being said, I should order another one to have on hand. lol. This is a lot cheaper than buying a new washing machine. And, I determined it was this part in the first place and ordering it on Amazon and then telling my husband about it. :)

Like MANY people have mentioned the drive not will not fit over the shaft.I purchased one(2x the price) from my local hardware store OEM.It slid down the shaft as expected.

easy to install

Thanks to youtube and a little bit of being handy, I was able to repair the spin cycle problem. Which seems to be quite common. Lasting 7 years from new isn't too bad. I crossed my fingers after the install, but seems like I did it right. Washer works great again. This helped us enormously, saving a repair bill in these tough times! I appreciate that the part was available on Amazon, and was less than $20.00

The product came with a regular plastic cover, not the one BlueStar shown in the picture. The white driver hub doesn't even fit. i can't use it.
