A good clear but detailed description of the beer making process and the chemistry involved. Quite an absorbing book with limited reci[pes for brewing your own but CAMRA produce another with a whole raft of them so both books are a must for the beer makers bookshelf!

Great book

The author is clearly very knowledgeable about commercial brewing, past and present, and scales down these methods for home production.Useful details and insight if you want to start a micro-brewery but misses out on some of the basics for the occasional home brewer who just wants a good pint with minimum fuss.

The best book available for any home brewer. Buy this together with "Brew Your Own British Real Ale At Home" also by Graham Wheeler and you'll be making some good classic beers in no time.

Just great for beer makers!

I recently started grain brewing and was recommended this book by another keen home brewer. It is very informative and written in easy to follow instructions. Along with The Big Book of Brewing they are my main reference manuals, has some good recipes too but not a lot.Highly recommended, prefer my home brew to the beer in most pubs and so much better than beer kits, worth the effort.
