Useful but could be design much better
Given the scarcity of books that would help teach Persian to non-Persian speaking kids, this was a useful find. But to be frank, it failed to impress either me or my 10 year old. drawings should have been done by someone with better skills, the cover design is completely misleading and non-user friendly, so that we actually ended up starting it from the wrong end and figured out we should have started from the other end only a few sessions into the book! And the fact that every single word has its pronunciation written in English beneath it makes it very difficult for kids to use their memory rather than reading the pronunciation in English. Having said all this, again, there is such scarcity of books for teaching Persian to this group of kids (who don't already speak Persian), that this book was definitely useful at the end of the day and I am grateful that it's out there.

One of my best friends just got engaged to a Persian woman who speaks Farsi and I have no idea what it is she says half the time. I have just received his book and it is GREAT!!! In the first couple of pages, they not only tell you how to write and say the alphabet, but there is also a small history lesson and a page on simple words form every foods to housing and basic animals. I love it!!! And I can color! Haha (best stress reliever!)

Whenever you want to be able to grab a random Farsi worksheet for young kids...and can make scan copies from the book so you don’t have to ruin the original copy...

I got this book so that I could learn to read and write Farsi. I'm having a hard time with the language in general and felt held back by having to spell everything phonetically with English letters. I thought that learning the alphabet would help, since that is the way we are taught other languages in American schools. From what I understand, the Farsi letters that are shown in this book are written in a calligraphy style that is a little difficult to mimic. Regardless, it is very easy to follow and is a great introduction to the alphabet, though I do not think it goes into enough depth regarding the usage of vowels. While I used this book myself, I'm sure a child would have a great time with it.

This book is adorable and wonderfully created. I got it for myself as well as my toddler. Each page has a single character quite large but also with ample practice area. We love it.
