Why or When is Expressing your Love a Sin! A question through all the ages?
I liked that the heroine in this story had a strength of character that would not allow her to accept any less than the best that someone who loves has to offer. I did not like her attempt to push away a happiness that she deserved with the man she loved. I did not see this as being truly honest with herself and to the choice she made to break with him. Just as she chose to yield to her passion for him with not a lot of thought for whether it could lead to some permanent commitment. Some of what the girl in the Bedouin tent experienced was beyond her control. Then, because of her naivete she made a choice that put her in a position that offered no moral high ground. But she thought more of herself and would not allow herself to become someone who is paid for her favor, as she believed her Mother had done. While I agree with her stance, no one can know for certain what may have brought a parent to make their choice in life. While from the outside it may appear that they are living a selfish and debased life, to the shame and embarrassment of their child, what were the other options? Anyway, this story touched a nerve that I felt more than read. Wish all life stories could have the happy ending that the heroine received in this one.

Girl in the Bedouin Tent (Harlequin Presents Extra) I don't like Sheikh romances...and always buy them as a last resort--and only after checking out other people's reviews. This one, however, was very romantic and the other reviewers were correct--well done!!!!!!!!The heroine, Cassie, was kidnapped on her way to a teaching job in what sounds like a made up middle eastern country somewhere and she's given to the hero (literally) as a sex slave since I guess he's king and that's what they do in that land. The hero, Amir, has integrity and basic common sense and as a result literally saves her life and the two embark on a romance....neither could stop/quell or help the attraction that from the get go sprung between them. The writer, master of her craft, pulls us into every glance, every shy look and heart-beat...we are holding our breath with both of them...and you can almost see the romance growing between them (could almost visualize it).Cassie has spunk, character and is a real woman (insecurities etc. but isn't over come by them) and likewise, Amir is a true hero: protective, integrity, and has that selfish trait and his own insecurities too--but works through them as well. We're able to see how both people could fall in love by the similarities in their life experiences and how they view the world. I was able to see why she would love him, and vice versa--why he would be drawn to her. Loved it, loved it...I also liked that she had a teaching job, teaching the women English because it seemed anything less would not have been in line with her character and her background as a western woman (she's Australian). Very well done. Buy the book--and keep it in your back reading files to re-read on a rainy day.

Good but not great
It's nothing new as far as the storyline goes, but I was able to connect to the characters. The writer was able to give some dimension to their personalities plus they have great chemistry and dialogue. Overall I liked it and will reread it.
