We love this little trumpet. It sounds just like a normal-sized trumpet to our ears. I cannot believe you can get this quality for the price!

Good inexpensive horn--but don't start on a pocket trumpet
I'm new to brass playing. I have found from playing this side-by-side with a regular student (i.e., inexpensive) instrument that the pocket trumpet takes a bit more air and lip pressure to sound. Perhaps this is because the tubing (the same length as a regular horn) is more tightly wound. At any rate, it takes markedly more effort to play...so if you're just starting out, avoid pocket trumpets. As a pocket trumpet itself, it's perfectly fine...sounds good...I washed it a few days after getting it, as they recommend, and I had no trouble with sticky pistons.
