Zeroodle Premium Shirataki Rice - Low Carb Low Calorie Rice - Vegan Gluten and Soy Free - 6 Pack

EDIT: this review was intended for the Zeroodle Rice with oat fiber.Four stars for the product, not for the Amazon price. I could never use the Miracle noodles brands--even the rice was just not chewable. Prepared correctly, the taste was all right. I decided to try these. First, there is very little smell after opening the package. Second, you do need to rinse them, but dry-frying is not necessary. Third, they have been easy to chew--sort of like diced firm, but juicy vegetables. I use them in casseroles although I could see using them in salads. My latest discovery came after taking a casserole out of the freezer. I'd read that sometimes the shiratake would dissolve in the freezer. These not only did not dissolve, the texture became almost exactly (for me, exactly) like ground beef. It was actually very satisfying to munch on that texture. I am keto but must restrict calories to lose weight. I don't eat much red meat so it's nice to know that a frozen bag of this rice can actually sub for ground meat in some dishes saving a lot of calories and giving a lot of fiber.

This is the best value for money I've found on Amazon for shirataki rice so far. It comes with 2 sealed 200g packs inside the main pack. The smell is pretty much nonexistent and is easily washed off if you smell anything.P. S. You can get cheaper in groceries, but that's the price you pay for delivery.

Not rice... not plastic... not rubber... but almost. They don't seem to absorb anything, they don't brown if you fry them - they're almost like the beads you put in a stuffed animal, only softer. Tasteless. Not "offensive" per se, just puzzling, and pretty pointless. I won't buy again.

If you are missing rice this is a good substitute but it is relatively expensive and is shipped in hydrated form (not something you can keep in a jar in the pantry - you need their package). The 400 gram package is one meal for 4.

The rice has no odor when you open it, as some other products do, and it takes on the flavour of what you put it in. Great for use in stir frys and casseroles. I haven't ate it on its own, so can't comment on that.

If you like Shirataki noodles you will like these "rice noodles". It doesn't compare with delicious sticky rice but that isn't why you are looking to buy these right? Wash well and let these spend a few minutes in whatever sauce you are cooking, these like Shirataki noodles taste best when they have soaked in some of that flavor.
