White Mountain's "Best Sellers" 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle offers straightforward assembly and interesting content. It is rather large. The red line border simplifies putting the edge pieces together. Like a good book, it's hard to stop once begun.I Never heard of "Bare Fists" by Marshall Hall (2nd cover in 2nd row). Maybe it's to prove the truth of the sign in the middle (near the eyeglasses: "You can't judge a book by its cover"). Only one book appears twice, with different covers: "Black Beauty" (3rd book 3rd row, and next to last book last row).A few authors are represented by multiple titles -- George Orwell: "1984" and "Animal Farm", Charles Dickens: "Oliver Twist" and "A Tale of Two Cities", E.B. White: "Stuart Little" and "Charlotte's Web", John Steinbeck: "The Grapes of Wrath" and "Of Mice and Men"...Some covers don't show the authors names, but I believe H.G. Wells wrote "The Time Machine" as well as "War of the Worlds" and "The Invisible Man" (the only author with 3 books shown), and Arthur Conan Doyle wrote both Sherlock Holmes volumes...I'm not sure about "The Mark of Zorro" (partially shown between 2 rows in the bottom right corner): apparently that was the name of a silent movie in 1920 starring Douglas Fairbanks based upon 5 serialized magazine stories from the previous year titled "The Curse of Capistrano" by Johnston McCulley; after the success of the movie, the stories were republished using the movie name.This jigsaw puzzle is well made and I recommend it.

Gave several pre Chritsmas puzzles as a gift for my roommate who is a puzzle snob who prides herself on completing the most difficult 20 million piece puzzles. Know the type? Anyway, she immediately proceeded to work on this one first and utterly enjoyed the process She said it was an "nice" challenge, in great part, because she enjoyed the wonderful theme.This is the perfect puzzle for the big reader in your life. With each additional piece you could see classic books come alive...once again. Pieces fit nicely together, without having to be forced. Excellently carved. Quality puzzle. My friend rated this a 5 (as 1k puzzle pieces go).Highly recommended.

Probably the easiest puzzle we've ever put together. It goes together very quickly as each book depicted in unique. What we really enjoyed was looking at the titles when it was completed and realizing we had read every book in the puzzle! The colors are bright and that makes for fun. I'd recommend this puzzle for 12 and up, particularly as a starter jigsaw puzzle for those not quite ready for the really difficult puzzles as the Ravensburger puzzles are. If you're a reader, you will love this puzzle. If you're an accomplished jigsaw puzzler, you might want to try one a bit more difficult. I'd very much recommend this as a family project, as the books are classic titles you will remember and be able to tell your kids about, although I'd bet there are titles your teens have already read! Would be a fun project to lay out on a table for a weekend away. Friends and family can't resist passing by and putting a piece or two in. You'll complete it in no time!

I LOVE this puzzle! I always buy the 500 piece puzzles but I seem to have already purchased most of the ones with the style I like. This style is the kind I like, with bright colors and lots of words. I saw that it had larger and harder pieces so decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did. It is very fun to work on. With several people working on it we each picked a 'book' to work on. It would be a great party puzzle. I'm excited because White Mountain Puzzle Company has a lot of other similar puzzles, one with board games, one has candy wrappers, one has cereal boxes, etc. This. puzzle is extra large so you will need a large area to work on. I have put together hundreds of puzzles and this one is the very best yet! I guarantee you will love it!

Because both of us work a puzzle at the same time, it really helps to have a poster inside of the completed picture. Especially when, like in this case, they put information about the puzzle over the photo on the box, blocking part of the edge. But if the poster is no larger than the box, it just comes off feeling "cheap". Give us a larger snapshot, any day. But the puzzle itself was fun to build, fit well together, then held together well when moving "chunks". Good puzzle experience.

Bought this puzzle to do with my book club. It only took two meetings to put together--so a few hours. It was fun to see the different books that were best sellers--many we never heard of. It was a great puzzle to do as a group because the different books allowed us to all basically work on our own little mini puzzles and it was so satisfying to fit them all together.

Could not be more happy with this purchase. Pieces are large, but not so large you feel like you're doing a child's puzzle. Color is very true, and texture is low glare and pleasingly tactile. Pieces lock together well. As with above review, great literary discussions were spawned. Easily completed in an evening. Highly recommended this holiday season, would make great gift, or just to have out during parties. You'd be surprised who can't resist the lure of a puzzle. Also, received puzzle before expected and in perfect condition. Will be returning to this seller. 10 out of 5 stars.
