Jacket: 5 stars. Zipper: 0 stars.
This is my first mesh jacket, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm delighted that it streams air inside the jacket while you're riding, and keeps you cool even in the hottest weather. Seems very well designed and constructed. The glaring exception is the zipper. When I read about its iffiness in the reviews, I dismissed that as a minor point. It's not. When the zipper's tab gets stuck at a 45° degree angle (see photo), the zipper jams. You can't move it up or down. The tab does this frequently and entirely on its own. If the tab jams before you zip up the jacket, you can straighten out the tab with pliers so you can then zip it up. If the tab jams when the jacket is zipped up, however, you'll need to have some pliers handy to straighten out the tab so you can unzip the jacket and take it off. I'm deciding whether to return the jacket as defective or cut off the tab and replace it with a cable tie or something similar. As for sizing, I'm 5'11" and 235 lbs, and got an XXL. It's a little big—on purpose—so I can wear a windbreaker underneath it in cooler weather. Given how cool the jacket is in hot weather, that was probably a good call; we'll see what happens in the fall and winter.

I'm Pilot from head neck to ankles now.
I spent hours at revzilla and moto world what ever it's called trying to pick out a jacket. Finally I went with this one after a few minutes of thought. I actually received the 2xl version of this jacket years ago and it was okay but the velcro destroyed the insides of it. I had already invested in the pilot chest protector and the back pad and said what the hell let me try it again. This time it's much better made, the velcro no longer destroys the lining of the jacket. I think it looks cool too, my first jacket that's not all black. Of course if it's hot, it won't be too cool unless you're moving. If it's cold, make sure to wear something underneath. I really like this jacket though, IDK what they did but they improved it a lot from the last one. It feels so much more durable and solid. Oh and I lost a gang of fat so I got a size L and it fits great. I'm 5'7 210 and wear a L. Doesn't feel uncomfortable if I'm wearing anything under either. Only downside is the pockets are limited. The chest protector interferes with the chest pocket if the item in the pocket is somewhat bulky but what ever. I prefer not to carry things in my pockets anyway. Last thing I need is a hard object jamming into my chest if I go down just because I preferred to have in in a pocket rather than a tank bag. Oh and you won't find something with this quality for the price anywhere else. I tried, for hours. Overall, I've been happy with Pilot Moto products, I'm a pilot guy now.

Great Jacket for the Price
I really like this jacket. I have the heavier version from Pilot with the liner in it in XL so I can wear a light jacket under it in the cooler months. This one is a Large. If you wear a large size t shirt then this will fit you. You don’t want it too loose because it will flap around at speed and irritate your skin. The armor seems to be adequate for the price paid. There are plenty of small adjustment take ups on the jacket for a custom fit. The zipper is a known problem on this jacket and my other Pilot jacket. There is a trick to zipping it up. You can’t insert the male part of the zipper all the way down. It will not feed. There is a point just before it reaches the bottom where the zipper will feed correctly. A little practice goes a long way. With care and no crashes I think it will last several years.

Went down in this jacket going 45mph
Was following somebody in the dark unknown street the other day going 45mph, got distracted with radio (stupid me) and didn’t see how the road suddenly started to curve. When I put my eyes back on the road it was too late... Hit the curb, got thrown off the bike and landed on my left side on the concrete sidewalk. Got massive bruise and road rush on my left hip but THANKS TO THIS JACKET no damage to the elbow or shoulder!! Plus jacket itself is still in what I consider serviceable condition. I don’t normally wear all the gear all the time but I’m sure happy I did that night. Thanks Pilot! In terms of sizing, I’m 5’8” 170lb and got it in Medium. It fits pretty good with more room for some of you “fuller” guys than me. When you’re moving it’s very breathable and great on hot summer days. Riding through traffic gets hot but I guess there’s no way around it. You get hot even if you don’t wear anything in NC during the summer. So don’t hesitate to buy this jacket. It is a good one. Ride safe!

Great for summer
I usually wear my J.Rocket jacket with the liner removed and vents open in the summer but it was still pretty hot. Figured I’d give this jacket a go as the whole thing is pretty much a vent. A couple things that I’ve found:I’m 6’ and 175 lbs with longer arms. I bought the large as every other jacket I buy I’m a large and it fits perfect.Ventilation is great while moving. I wore a T-shirt underneath. I didn’t feel much air where my shirt was but the air coming in through the sleeves was unreal and provided a lot of cooling. The neck of this jacket is cut a little lower, similar to where my T-shirt collar is, and stays there. My other jacket is higher cut and would dig into my neck while riding and become uncomfortable after a while.I’ve never owned a day glow colored jacket and this thing is bright as all get out which makes me feel a little safer/visible which was nice. The jacket is cut a little shorter from top to bottom. I ride a standard bike with an upright seat position. My other jacket would bunch up in the stomach and on the sides, giving me a parachute effect. The shorter cut let’s this jacket sit tighter/flat to my body which I was happy to see.The jacket is light and well made. No problems with zippers. Adequate pockets and large enough to fit my plus-sized iPhone. Light and airy which is great for summer, but I would assume not as great in a slide. I feel much easier to see, but not as well protected as in my other jacket. But I guess that’s the trade off which I’m willing to accept to avoid sweating to death.Overall very happy with my purchase, great jacket for a good price.

Easy Breezy
I've only got a few hours in the saddle with this jacket (only had one non-rainy day since I got it) and so far I love it. I'm 6' 270lbs and the 3XL fits me great. In non bike gear I'm usually somewhere between XL and 2XL on a jacket, and for bike gear I'm usually at least a 5XL, their sizing chart is dead on, this jacket almost fits me as if it were tailored. I've got a bit of a longer torso so the jacket is a bit on the short side but not overly so, I can reach into my pants pocket without having to lift the jacket if that makes sense. The airflow is fantastic, I was a bit chilly going over 50kph on a sunny 20C day and the fit and finish seem way above the price tag, I haven't had any issues with the zipper that others have mentioned so that might be a hit or miss issue, I'll update the review if that changes. The only issue I have with it that made this a four star review is that the elbow pad pockets could due to be an inch or so further up the arm because currently the pad just to say covers the point of my elbow and if you go down, it may or may not be protecting what is frequently one of the first parts of your body that hits the ground, even if it bumps the price of the jacket up a bit, I think adjustable pad locations would make this jacket all but perfect.

Worth the money!
Nice jacket for summer when you want the breeze to go through to keep you cool. Worth the money!Downside: collar too low for half helmet but perfect for full face. Center back padding not contoured and stiff. There should be a wind proof removeable liner to cut the wind to make this jacket more useful for cooler morning drive and warm afternoon return.

Ordered an XL, I don't even think my kid could get into it. Had to send it back.. followed the specs for fitment in the pic but wasn't even close.

Excellent value for the $
Excellent value for the $, very comparable to jackets that cost two to three times as much in the bike shops.
