Level 3 is enough for most applications. 2. The red light is not predictable when plug into the power. It is only predictable when keep the handle pressed down on bottom. This is a protection for sealer or it will burn out after several uses. 3. When seal is done, the red light will go off. Keep the handle pressed down for a few seconds to get optimal results. 4. Keep the sealer's surface clean to avoid the oxidation of the residue or it will reduce the life of the heating wire and high temperature cloth! 5. Do not use wet cloth to clean the surface 6. if the gasket below the heating wire is damaged, it will cause a short circuit and damage the heating strip. Therefore,please check the condition of the gasket each time you change the heating strip. Did not seal properly and melted the bag. I had to keep working on the temp but could not get it.
