Sheryl Crow - Live at the Capitol Theater DVD + 2 CDs

Tell That Bald Headed Guy To Sit Down
The show starts out in black and white, which is a little annoying. Sheryl seems to have a need to tell us about her history instead of just letting us enjoy the present. In between the songs are interview spots where she is sitting there explaining herself. If this is what you like, I have good news...you can go to the extras-bonus features, and hear it all again without having to wade through the music. Maybe a "Half Way" measure would be to just have the interviews on the bonus part of the disc and just let the music roll. She doesn't look as confident as she did in the old days. She also spends too much time explaining the songs to the audience. Maybe a good rule of thumb would be for an artist to limit themselves to explaining just one song per show. And for the music part, it's good to see Peter Stroud playing with Sheryl again. I like Audley Freed too, but something seems to be missing in the guitar department. Peter isn't what he was, but at the same time the guitars and keyboardist, Jen Gunderman, (who is great!), are the main thing making the new songs work. The new songs tell me that Sheryl has been listening to too much hip-hop. “Long Way Back” has some great lyrics, but lose the rap rhythm. I do like "Roller Skate". I like “Best Of Times” too. The end of it sounds a little like “Midnight Rambler” gone into a tail spin. I'd also like to see her playing more guitar and bass and do less running around like a wanna be rapper. I guess when she’s playing guitar it keeps her busy being herself. This gets back to the confidence thing. Somewhere in there Sheryl talks about getting away from the modern contraptions like cell phones. I wish she felt the way about the drum programming. Too much of Sheryl's time is spent playing to the audience. I “Shall Believe” is a disappointment and the credits start rolling before the song is over. Did the editors get bored with it too? Sound choices are just Dolby stereo or Dolby 5.1, no LPCM or DTS. And there’s not much going on in the rear channels with the 5.1.

Sheryl, come on, this could have been SOOOOOO much better....
First Sheryl Crow is a great artist, done some good work really...If you are a fanatic fan, rather than just a fan who appreciates her you will love this...as someone who collects good concert footage you can't argue with the sound and film quality...but... she does interviews in between many of the songs...wth???..that is ridiculous....seems quite self absorbed and it disrupts the concert flow...for those who haven't attended many concerts maybe this doesn't seem odd...i love concerts and love the energy and quit counting after attending 300 major ones...2nd and admittedly this is just me, every artist has the absolute right to modify their songs as they wish and many do as the years go on...some of Sheryl's older songs had some great licks and great flow....how she changed them for this concert wasn't as good...sorry it wasn't but yes, again, she has every right to do so...but if i was going to record a concert i would play them as they made you great...(or as great as Sheryl is).Sheryl, i see you on Clapton's Crossroads concerts...did he break up the concert footage to blab on and on???but still like you...just not a fan of the concert which i REALLY wanted to be fantastic...but it was not...it was all right....however if i had seen this before buying it i would have passed, as i mentioned can see her on some of the Crossroads concerts to get my Sheryl fix and still have most of her older cds.......

Best concert in years!
I was at this concert and it was great. I am so happy this was made into a DVD. Musicianship was excellent. Sheryl put on a great show. I have seen many of her shows over the years and am so happy I was able to go to this one. I got the blue ray and now I want to buy the dvd to play on my computer. The lighting and video and sound was fantastic!

First set would not play in my players . Received a new one. Its PERFECT.
Tried to play in 2 different Blu-ray players. It would not play in either one. It may be a defective disc or because of the region. There are no markings on the cover or inside at all that describes the regions like most DVD's or Blu-Ray's. I ordered a replacement with Amazon,so we'll see what happens.I received the new one today and it plays perfect. Just got a bad disc the first time. A must have for any Sheryl Crow fan.

Sheryl Crow 2017 Concert
This blu ray / CD set is a great representation of Sheryl Crow's 2017 concert tour. The concert is an excellent high energy show that covers hits from the past 20 years. I like the added energy in many concert videos and records - this was a nice addition to my collection. If you enjoy live music, I recommend you add this to your collection.

A great holiday gift idea for Sheryl Crow fans
This Sheryl Crow 2 CD plus DVD set is the perfect gift for a friend of mine who is a Sheryl Crow fan. The set arrived on the day it came out, as I pre-ordered it, and I was very pleased with how it was packaged by the Amazon dealer.

Good performance, muddy mix
What comes through is fine. The engineer who mastered this should be fired. The sound is a muddy wash, losing much of the detail of a spirited performance by the band.

Awful, concert interruptted by interview between almost every track.
This live blu ray is awful. In between almost every track, the concert is interrupted by interview footage with Sheryl. It destroys the whole experience of watching a concert. Also, consider watching this, with the volume cranked up, and suddenly, loud yelling interview footage is being smashed right in your head - unless you're alert with remote in hand ready to mute. :-(Producers : don't interrupt the concerts, put interviews and other stuff in the extra/bonus material.

Bellissima e bravissima Sheryl, come al solito d'altr'onde
Bel concerto quasi intimo, bravissima lei, bravi i musicisti accompagnatori.Nel DVD ci sono bei spezzoni di interviste alla divina ed intelligentissima Sheryl, che invecchia sì, ma molto lentamente, e senza perdere la classe innata.

Live at the Capitol Theatre
Tolle Musik.Eine Blu-rayDisc mit stark komprimierten Dolby 5.1 Ton ist nicht kundenfreundlich.Von einer Blu-rayDisc erwarte ich bessere Tonqualität.
