Is this real life? Honest review from someone with Adult Acne for 15 years!!
Ok. I’m fairly certain this is the only Amazon review I have ever written. That’s how serious this is lol and it’s not a paid review either. This is real life y’all. The good and the not so good! Hang in there if you’re gonna read the whole review!I have had adult acne for 15 years. Bad. Painful cystic acne. Major redness and melasma. I’ve been embarrassed of my skin for as long as I can remember. Spending a small fortune are various serums, creams, spot treatments, washes, not even the popular 3 step system you used to order on TV worked for me. Nothing. Easily thousands of dollars. And I would spend so much of my day applying layers of foundation and concealer because I was mortified of my skin. If I went out in public without even kids stare or have asked me why I have “owies” on my face. I hated looking in the mirror and avoided my reflection everywhere. It affected me more than anyone in my life ever knew. I don’t know how many times I’ve cried over my face.I’m turning 38 and was just too dang old to be dealing with this nonsense.I found Blume Meltdown Oil on a FB add and instantly thought “Well, this goes against everything I know about acne, and know enough to not put OIL on my OILY face” lolI checked if Amazon had it, and it was only a 2 day shipping (this was a month ago, so I’ve been using it for one month) and I didn’t even want to wait a month, so I popped into Ulta and they had it. Now I’ll order it on repeat from Amazon.I got a basic cleanser from Target, and headed home. I tried it out right away. My first thoughts were that I was not expecting it to be green haha but I didn’t mind, it wasn’t artificially green, just natural. I dabbed about 6 drops around my face and rubbed it in. Some complain about the smell but I LOVE IT!!!!!! Finally something without a noxious perfume smell. That’s the worst. This has an earthy and herbaceous scent. It’s not overbearing and once absorbed you can’t smell anything at all. But again, I love the smell of it.I stared at myself in the mirror and my skin was quite…. Shiny and thought “What have I done?” LolBut I continued this regimen morning and night and only used foundation if I left the house. And yesterday we boasted a small gathering with friends and I did NOT wear foundation!!!!!!! I couldn’t believe it. I thought about it once or twice during the party and felt nervous but got over it.This morning my husband who has never ever once even commented on my complexion and we’ve been married 16 years. He loved me with horrific skin that honestly most would be embarrassed, but he looked past it. Anyway, this morning he was looking over at me and said “Your skin….. your skin looks so….. healthy. Like, wow!” And I’m like “It’s that oil!!!” So I ordered some last week and it’s going on my stocking 😂My pores that were so big and prominent and shrinking daily. Pesky blackheads are virtually gone, the redness on my face is calmed drastically, and my huge, painful, cystic acne on my forehead, cheeks, chin and neck are G-O-N-E. Even the wrinkles on the sides of my eyes (crows feet) are practically gone, and I used to have serious, deep grooves in my forehead and now they are subtle lines. It’s wild. For the ladies only: I’m at the week of the month when I would see a major increase in acne than other weeks of the month lol and NOTHING. I’m literally feeling like I’m waiting for it to happen but so far, I’m clear!I feel great about turning 38 and if I’m honest I want to order like 10 bottles in case something happens or it sells out lol@Blume Melt Oil, I’m down for a sponsorship 😂😂For reals. Try it. I know it’s scary to put oil on your oily face but trust the process. I did see increased blemishes the first week or 2 but I think my skin was being purged. The *only* negative review I have, is that you don’t know when the bottle is almost empty. The bottle is beautiful and well made, but maybe if there was a section on the side of the bottle that was clear all the way up just to see where the product was at to know when to order more. That’s my only negative lol so when I look down into it, and it looks much lower, I went and ordered more on Amazon. When I remember, I’ll take an after picture. But just try it!!!!

Worked miracles for me
Been using this for about a month. I'm over 50 and my facialist asked me what I was doing differently for my skin. I have used many products over the years. It's winter and we have a woodstove so it is very dry. Adding drops of this into my moisturizer or as an extra step on days when my skin needs a boost has been a game changer. I have tried other facial oils and some very expensive ones. This is the only one that results in no buildup. My skin feels and looks better than it did 20 years ago. This is staying in my routine.

Dropper/packaging change
I bought my original product on Aug. 15 2024 and my second bottle on Oct. 29 2024. Between the two dates the manufacturers must have changed the dropper because it is quite faulty. The seal comes up with it about every other time I use it and I have to re screw the cap back on and try again. Also, the dropper itself on the first bottle worked perfectly, but the new version drops 2 drops and then like 3 all at once. It’s causing me to waste product. I can tell it’s a slightly different cap as it has more sharp edges vs. the old bottle cap that had smoother edges around the plunger mechanism. Hoping they can change back to the older one, it was so much better!!The product itself is great, though I do not think it has helped my kind of acne at all. It is moisturizing though which my naturally dry skin loves.

Bad smell
Yes a lot of people mentioned the smell but there is no way to describe how bad it is. It also doesn’t seem to absorb and just sets on the skin for an oily look. Product seems different from before I had bought from another seller. Cannot be returned.

Does not make face greasy.
Sinks right into my skin. Only used for a few days, but already clearing congested chin and nose.

Not for allergies to chamomile
Even though this is marketed for sensitive skin, beware if you have a chamomile allergy. I had an allergic reaction and noticed this ragweed ingredient too late.

Needed to spend HRA money so I figured why not...
Needed to spend HRA money so I figured why not... and now I've been more impressed with this product than any other single product I've tried in the last 10+ years.I've struggled with oily-but-flaky skin for my entire post-pubescent life and every single product up until now has either left me greasy or only worked for a short period before my skin seemed to "adapt" and decide it wasn't a fan after all. With this Meltdown Oil, I only feel "greasy" for a short while after applying, and before I even realize time has passed my skin feels dry in a way I've never experienced before. The kind of dry you want your skin to be. No dampness, no oil, no grease, no loose dead skin, no rough patches, just... skin. Which feels like the weirdest description ever, but I guess IYKYK. I layer my SPF moisturizer on top after 5-10ish minutes (aka however long it takes me to put on deodorant, brush my hair and teeth) and they work together like a dream.Plus, I love the way this stuff smells. The super earthy herbal notes just make me feel like I'm doing something right with my life. If you dislike tea tree oil, scents frequently associated with hippies, or the smell of the inside of an Aveda hair salon... you might not be a fan.

Smells bad
When I put this on my face, I was told that my face smelled like “pencil shavings”. The smell is bad. Haven’t noticed much of a difference in my skin either.
