The Tyrant Falls in Love, Vol. 1 (Yaoi) Paperback – October 12, 2010

if you're into this genre, and like stories with an actual storyline and character development in a more realistic way, this is a must! Book came as described, and I love being able to own a physical copy of one of my favorite series! The manga-ka developed this series so well. It's funny, sexy, and tugs at your heart in a way that the regular, just cute BL doesn't.

This is, without a doubt, my favorite yaoi title. I have read the scanlations, and can't wait to get a printed copy in my hot little fan-girl hands.The development of the relationship between the two main characters is a joy to watch. You can't help rooting for Morinaga's steadfastness and patience to pay off. The door to the sexual relationship is opened with a fairly common yaoi plot device, but what happens afterwards is not so typical. And aside from this initial episode, Morinaga is one of the gentlest, caring, and likable semes out there.One of the things I like best about this story is that the uke is an independent, untamed, MAN, not a girl-substitute or a whimpering man-child. There are times in the course of the story when he has to be the strong one and protect Morinaga. They are equals, and aside from the sexual relationship they have a respect and liking for each other as individuals. Tatsumi's true feelings are obvious to everyone but himself, and you know that when self-awareness finally dawns we (the readers) will be rereading those pages over and over.The artwork is beautiful, and conveys intense passion without being completely graphic. There is also plenty of humor and enough plot to keep things moving. If I could have only one yaoi series on my bookshelf, this would absolutely be it.

For anyone who doesn't know what Yaoi is, it is male homosexual relationship based stories. Just a pre-warning, this series is NOT for children and ONLY for an 18+ audience. If you are looking for a cute yaoi without much sex, you may want to start off with the Challengers series (a story that essentially started this one and is about the tyrant's younger brother and his lover). This story has a LOT of sex scenes in it, but even if it didn't the story-line is just too cute. You have Morinaga, a homosexual young man who's studying in college with his Sempai (whom he has completely fallen in love with and has been like this for the past 3 years when you meet him in the first chapter). Granted, the first, second, and third books can be quite frustrating (for those who just want the "tyrant" to admit his own feelings for Morinaga). However, once you get to book 4, the story begins to take off on a journey we all want to see :). And for those who need the instant gratification, well, there's always Fanfiction.net to fill the void in the meantime ;)

Well I saw the anime version first before I got the manga.Although I love the seiyuu who did the voices, they were awesome by the way I would buy the drama CD if I can, there were few specific part of the story that was left out ,got me confused a little but it made sence to me when I was reading the manga.I like the illustrations although they are not as beautiful as the others , I s till like it it.I love how the story developed ,the conflict and the resolution, the emotions involved. That is the best part of this manga.I am glad I have this manga and its definitely a keeper.

I read the majority of the series online, but it's great to have the physical copies. Though, it would be nice if it wasn't so expensive to get the rest of the series.

I found this manga through a clip on YouTube. I fell in love instantly with Morinaga's gentleness with yet perservering pursuit of Tatsumi, and when I found out how comical their relationship had been and was continuing to be, I really fell in love with Ms Takanaga's writing. I like her twists and turns and I *love* the two men's relationship and am anxiously awaiting volume 8.Will always buy Hinako Takanaga's stories re: Morinaga and Tatsumi!

One of my all-time favorite Yaoi mangas! I will follow this one until the very last volume ever comes out. Although, I read mostly electronically, I bought this because I'd love to have it in print too!

Es muy dificil encontrar tomos bl a la venta en inglés... y como no podia ser de otra forma es precio es desorbitado no, lo siguiente, la mayoria de las veces, lo que me parece muy injusto... Pero bueno, el comic llegó en perfectas condiciones y como era para regalo para cumpleañera quedó más que satisfecha.
