The World's Greatest Civil Aircraft: An Illustrated History Kindle Edition

Purchased for my child's 7yo birthday - he loves civil aircraft, and this book was definitely a hit. Very detailed descriptions; individual aircraft specification presented along with large clear colored photos. I purchased this together with the Boeing Jetliners color series book, but I believe my son prefers this book. Overall, very pleased with purchase.

A must for every airplane fanatic.

Excellent detail of the greatest planes that have been flown. Great drawings that show specifications and how each planes difference . Also, good reading about them and what makes each one so special.

Lacked a small bit in coverage but a great new encyclopedia to have in collection

Many identification guides have been written concerning commercial aircraft, but this field guide is the latest in my memory that features the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the new Bombardier CSeries regional jet. I like how the writer provided concise specifications and 3-view illustrations of each aircraft.

This book is nicely laid out with photos and drawings, but as an historic review of the world's major commercial airliners, it neglects to include the Consolidated Convair series of airliners (240/340/440). This significant airliner basically replaced the DC-3 for short haul work and was purchased and used extensively by virtually every major US airline and most of the major European carriers. A book of this type cannot fail to include this important airliner in the history of commercial aviation. In addition, the authors include the Russian supersonic airliner, which hardly flew and never made a mark on civil aviation history.

This book is crammed full of photos and interesting information. A must have!

bought this book as a present for someone who likes civil aircraft, it looked very good. it was a shame that it cost £18.94. but had a sticker on dust cover stating it was from ' the works' and being sold at the bargain price of £6.00. luckily i was able to remove the sticker. its a pity this wasnt noticed before sending out. it wasnt a one off either as the first copys dust cover was damaged and i was sent a replacement which also had the same £6.00 sticker on

The ebook has rediculously low resolution images for "an illustrated history". I'm very disappointed.
