Brilliant
This book is well researched and documented. It is easy to read and understand but it is deep. As a Mason I got a lot more out of Brown’s thinking and work by reading this one. Non Masons will get a ride into the truth of Masonry and a relative understanding of its past, present and likely future. Bottom line, when you read this book you will find out much you didn’t understand in Brown’s book. Well done!

A great read!
C. Hodapp writes an informative, inside description of the fraternity within, viewed from without. And, he doesn't try to paint Freemasons into a more flattening light than they deserve. Having been a member of multiple lodges, I can tell you...not all are the same. Freemasonry has changed my life. I'm sure I have a lot more to learn, but learn I will. But so far...I've enjoyed it.

Great Read
This is another excellent book by Masonic author Christopher Hodapp. He does a great job of breaking down The Lost Symbol and putting it into context. Hodapp takes his readers through Dan Brown's best seller, giving an informative and enlightening perspective. If you haven't read The Lost Symbol, this book will be confusing. If you have, it is a great companion piece to help sort fact from fiction.

Deciphering THE LOST SYMBOL
An American Freemason, a man of knowledge explaining Dan Brown's books. What can happen to an author better than an editorial is the expert. The name, Christopher L. Hodapp (author of Free Mason For Dummies),you should remember. The Freemason rituals he knows best, and explains them. The Freemasonrituals he knows best, and explains them.A little tip: Read also: Duncanm Malcolm C. Duncan`s Masonic Ritual and Monitor. It explains in detail the rituals.

Deciphering The Lost Symbol:Freemasons, Myths and the Mysteries of Washington, D.C.
My book club was reading Dan Brown's THE LOST SYMBOL. We found this book, DECIPHERING THE LOST SYMBOL, to be very enlightening on many things mentioned in Brown's book. Also, as we had a member who was well informed about Freemasonary, Eastern Star and etc, we gained more indepth knowledge about Masonary, culture, our national history and the architecture of famous buildings in Washington DC. I recommend this book highly.

Just OK
This was just ok. I hoped to learn more about the symbols in Dan Brown’s Lost Symbol. But, this book is written by a Mason and is mostly about Masons and their history. Certainly, that’s part of what Brown’s book is about. But, I was hoping for more info about the symbols themselves.

Gift for the hubby -
He loves it, I can't comment on the content - however it's pretty clear what it's about looking at the title. From what I understand thorough research and correct content make this a good buy for interested parties!

Not what I wanted or expected
This book was not what I wanted or expected. I was hoping the author would have more about Freemasonry in general, but this book isn't about that. It's a critique of the misconceptions of Freemasonry in Dan Brown's book. I like Hoddap's books on Freemasonry, but not this one.
