I love this curling iron. I have had trouble finding one that is easy to use and has a decent barrel size. And heats up nicely. I have owned one like this before, but lost it. This was worth replacing. I have difficulty with larger barrel sizes because my hair is not long enough in the places where I need the curve. My hair will not respond unless wrapped around a barrel small enough in circumference, but not too big. Hence, the curve works with my fine hair, which will not be smooth enough in a larger-barrel curling iron unless I use additional styling tools—double damage. Unless you want more bells and whistles, you will be happy with this good-quality item. It is basic, with the on/off functions showing, and you need to make sure to turn it off. If you want to gift something, you might find it cost-effective to pair it with other hair products, like a heat styling leave-in product and clips to keep the hair sectioned like they do in the salons. I must use Amazon's gift delivery service because I live far from my loved ones. This is cost-effective and a tried-and-true method that still has a place in today's world. This is a product you can use carefully, yet you don't have to worry about the smell unless you push it with too much heat or products that aren't meant for heat styling. The speed and average temperature are easy. It will hold up well if you have the type of heart that usually responds. My hair is not straight and has a bit of natural wave. Though if you have straight hair, I think the medium barrel, or smaller one, will work well, especially with hair products for the body. For me this has great hold. Enjoy!

This is my fourth of this same curling iron, spanning about 25 years. They last well (obviously), curl well, and are a good size and shape and function for my desired styles. The plastic thumb guard came off of my last one a few years ago (after several years of usage), so I had it covered with duct tape. But the heat was gradually decreasing, so I decided to get a new iron. One never knows if the newer ones will be as good of quality - usually the manufacturers make them cheaper and poorer to scrimp on money. But this new iron is just as good as the others I have used for years and years. For some years I would accidentally change the heat setting with my fingers as I used the irons, because of the location on the device - but I learned to stop touching that area. I'm not sure where else they would put that setting changer (perhaps on the cord end), but as I said, I learned to stop changing the setting. I'm still very pleased with this Conair curling iron, and this newest one is as good as my first one many years ago.

Heats up really fast. I wish it holds the hair a little tighter but overall it’s really good quality. It’s curls my hair good

Works great, but I feel it should be hotter?? The highest setting doesn’t feel as hot as I thought my last one was.

I’ve purchased and returned several Conair curling irons due to the power button being so easily pressed while curling your hair. Next thing you know, it's off. Again. This curling iron is everything I wanted. The power button is not in the way and the iron gets super hot and stays that way until you’re done. My hair is at an odd, in-between length after a brain tumor removal surgery. I’m trying to get used to not having my long hair but this iron is helping me love my hair again in the meantime. I get great curls; nice ringlet style or big barrel curls. The iron grips the strand of hair I’m curling perfectly. If you’re on the fence, just get it. I bought the 3/4” barrel. If you want bigger curls, size up (obv.). 😊

Heats quickly, good quality for the price. Easy to travel with. It is not very big. There is also a turbo heat setting, which can be helpful if you’re in a rush.

Curls were so bomb I love a good curl the iron heats up so fast it doesn't have that chemical smell when first heating up an it does burn the hair while curling. Silky smooth no snag or difficulty holding and forming curls it's perfect. I really want a t3 barrel curler but this is the next best thing I love it.

Nice curling iron but only lasted a month and started being hard to turn on and impossible to turn off.
