Tops all hot chocolates
When I went to Barcelona, this hot chocolate was served in special cafes and is typical of the region, and perhaps of Catalonia. This hot chocolate is just that--hot chocolate. It's not like the milky French version or the Dutch or even the Belgium versions. This packet contains a rice binder with the chocolate powder that lets one heat up the chocolate on the stove top with milk (slowly) until it thickens to a desired consistency. Be generous with the chocolate powder in terms of serving size. I usually put 4-5 Tablespoons in one cup of milk. To make it true to the Spanish tradition, serve it with fresh whipping cream on top and serve with madeline cookies or plain croissants. Dip as needed!

The very best authentic Spanish chocolate
This chocolate is the very best quality you can get. You need to keep stirring the pot until it thickens. It is not immediate, it will take at least 5 minutes of continuous stirring, just like cooking bechamel sauce. Dunk some churros in it and enjoy a fabulous treat!

Package was open
So bummed! The package was broken, there was powder everywhere, and I cannot get a new one of my money back. Literally, money down the drain. Gave it two stars because it smelled really good. Too bad I can’t actually taste it!

Delicious!
Delicious authentic Spanish hot cocoa! A little pricey for the amount you get, but I will definitely buy it again!

Unpleasant texture
The reason this hot chocolate is so thick is because it contains corn flour. Mine came out very thick, and had an unpleasant, gelatinous mouthfeel - nothing like the hot chocolate I have had in Europe. The real thing should not have flour of any kind in it. Avoid this product.

Insipid tasting hot chocolate.
A very insipid, way too sweet product. It didn't get properly thick either, despite my careful, best efforts. Nothing like the real thing I've had in Spain.
