Wonderfully literate, with a knack for character building, and a focus on erotic humiliation
If you are looking for a quick spank-bank erotic read, something mindless and kinky to burn through in a few minutes, then you should really look elsewhere. If, however, you are looking for a full-length novel that will get inside your head and mess with your emotions, then Feminized Cuckold is absolutely fantastic.Ann Michelle is a wonderfully literate author, someone who writes with both passion and skill. She demonstrates a knack for character building here that is almost as delicious as her increasingly erotic scenarios of humiliation. When I say erotic, I mean just that - this is a stimulating read, one that will excite appreciative readers immensely, but it is largely non-sexual. There is the suggestion (or even the threat) of sex throughout, but that is not the point of Paul's journey. As for Paul, he is a fantastically complex character. He starts out as the kind of arrogant jerk you love to hate, one we are more than happy to see broken and humiliated, but he soon becomes someone with whom we sympathize, and (as Paula) someone we very much want to see find happiness. So much of this book depends on him, and he is worthy of our attention. The ways in which he struggles, both emotionally and physically, are absolutely fascinating. His forced feminization is gradual, and while we get a sense of just how much his wife has planned ahead, Paul just sees a series of opportunistic events.Readers should be cautioned that this is not a crossdressing fantasy or a bit of spousal role play. This is the very definition forced feminization, a cruel story in which Paul resists at every stage, and resents almost every new advance. He is a prisoner in his own marriage, and a slave to his wife's humiliating plans. Carrie gets him so accustomed to increasingly higher heels that he begs not to wear flats because of the pain they cause him, and so used to the feel of skirts and dresses that he cries at the threat of pants that he had once begged to wear. She also uses mental tricks to have him believing he wanted his nails painted and his makeup done, putting him in situations where there is no good answer to the questions she asks of him.The mental and intellectual aspects of Paul's isolation alone are fascinating, with that alienation from the rest of the world having almost as much of an impact as heels, dresses, painted nails, and all the rest. As his wife slowly cuts off his access to their bank account, newspapers, magazines, and television, he finds his world shrinking down to the fashion magazines she buys him and his weekly trips to the grocery store. By the time she begins inviting people by the house, the last thing he wants is to be seen or to be forced to interact with people who once knew him . . . and might be able to save him. And yet, despite all that, there is something within him that responds to all the abuse, a secret driving force that causes him to become embarrassingly aroused by the humiliation.Having his wife cuckold him with his best friend seems like it would be the final indignity, but Ann Michelle twists even that, bringing the story around to some developments I honestly did not expect. A lot happens in the final few chapters, allowing us to appreciate the full depth of Carrie's cruelty, and we do get a satisfying resolution to Paula's story arc. Feminized Cuckold may not necessarily be the story you expect going in, but it is one you will appreciate all the more for the surprises.

Bad Ending…
The story is fine for the first 2/3rd. Then there's this amazing realization of what the wife (and other wives) have planned. This is where the story could have been 5+ stars, creating a world of sissy men. Instead, it rushes to an unsatisfying conclusion that comes out of nowhere. Too many boner killers in this story. Nothing resolves.

Deliciously humiliating
This is the second book I have read by Ann Michelle, having previously read and reviewed "Grounded in Heels". I enjoyed both books immensely because I find humiliation very erotic, and Ann Michelle is a master--or should I say "mistress"--of femdom humiliation erotica.Like "Grounded in Heels", the male protagonist in "Feminized Cuckold" is trapped and feminized against his will by a wickedly sadistic female. In the first book an eighteen-year-old boy is delivered into the clutches of his vengeful sister when their mother imposes a feminizing punishment on him. In this book, a formerly proud and successful businessman, Paul Jackson, becomes progressively dependent upon, and enslaved by, his wife after losing his job.Because the dominant/submissive relationships in both books are nonconsensual, being enforced by entrapment, the humiliation of the male protagonists is extreme. "Feminized cuckold" is the edgier of the two stories because Paul's domination by his wife Caroline is more sadistic. Caroline's reign over Paul isn't "loving female authority"; it is physical and psychological abuse. But as sadomasochistic fantasy, it is highly erotic abuse. The title of the novel sums up the two main components of Paul's humiliation: he is "feminized" and made into a cuckold against his will. Losing the job which had sustained his self-image as a competent breadwinner possessed of a compliant trophy wife sets the scene for Paul's emasculation at the hands of his wife Caroline. Instead of playing the role of a supportive wife who bolsters Paul's ego and encourages him to succeed, Caroline mocks and belittles him in a way that strikes directly at his fragile manhood. Once she manages to find a job herself, while he is still unemployed, she is able to emasculate him systematically through a regime of enforced feminization, disempowerment, corporal punishment, and cuckolding. Incidentally, the cuckolding is exquisitely humiliating, and there is a really hot spanking scene with an interesting twist. In both of the Ann Michelle novels I have read, the male protagonists are vulnerable in three different ways. First of all, they are trapped by circumstances that force them to submit to sadistic female authority. Secondly, in a delicious irony, they feel compelled to collaborate with their female superiors in their own feminization because trying to appear truly female seems less embarrassing than being seen for what they really are: sissified she-males. Therefore, their own unruly penises that threaten to spring free of their panties and ruin their female disguises are a constant source of fear and embarrassment. Those unruly penises, however, symbolize their deepest vulnerability, which is internal. They are aroused by their own enslavement, so they can protest as much as they like that they don't want to submit to the power of their female tormentors, but their surging penises tell a different story.Ann Michelle has a talent for making male masochists like me empathize with the male protagonists in a highly erotic way. I feel their humiliation and their sense of impotence. I sympathize with their frustrated impulses to break free and reassert their manhood. But like them, I can't stop myself from being aroused by Ann Michelle's story any more than the characters in the stories can prevent their unruly penises from betraying them. I almost feel as though there is a dominant/submissive relationship between the writer and the reader that mirrors the D/s relationships in the stories. The story has some clever if implausible plot twists. It isn't a story that could happen in real life (thank God), but I was able to suspend my disbelief and enjoy the story because I empathized so powerfully with Paul/Paula that it felt real. That's what made it so arousing for me.I will certainly buy more of Ann Michelle's books. I am no transvestite, and I have no desire to be feminized, but Ann Michelle casts a spell with the erotic power to make me submit to that fantasy.Update, August 2014: I just reread this review I wrote 2 years ago, and I wish to make one additional comment. In the last sentence of the review I said "I have no desire to be feminized." That has changed, and I would credit Ann Michelle's books for starting me down a new erotic path in my life. I now have a desire to be feminized, a desire that I have acted upon to the best of my ability. I think it is a tribute to the erotic power of Ann Michelle's books that they helped me to discover a new dimension of my own sexuality.
