This is an update of my first review. The pump worked fine, but as noted in my first review, it broke after a year of use (we use it most days). Here's what I then said: "Almost exactly one year from when I bought, the vacuum pump stopped working properly. The top that you grasp to pull up the plunger to create the vacuum kept coming off. It was attached only by pressure, no glue or other fastener, and will all the pumping (we use it most days) it seemed like it loosened. Then I realize that the shaft to which it was attached had become very stiff in the channel, didn't slide well at all. So you might think the resistance you felt as you pumped was from the vacuum you were creating, but it was just a cranky shaft that showed the same resistance when it wasn't on a wine stopper. I kind of repaired both defects. Put olive oil on the shaft, made it slide somewhat easier; tape a circle of paper on the part of the top that inserts into the shaft, to increase the pressure that kept it on. " In fact my repair did not last. But the seller wrote me unprompted--I had not contacted them--to offer me a refund or free replacement. I chose a replacement, and indeed received it today. The seller said they hadn't had others with the problem. Perhaps then mine was just a bad sample. But either way, their replacing it without my having even asked seemed to me to merit some note. So I've changed the rating to five stars.

This is easy to use and works perfectly. It takes longer to read the instructions (or this review!) than to use it. It keeps the wine fresh with minimal cost and effort. I'm the only wine-drinker in our household so this is important to me; stale wine can be awful. I like having four of the stoppers, although currently it's more than I will ever have open at once. A high-quality product at a low price.

I did not set my expectations too high, however this works better than I thought it would and it's durable. Purchased in January 2023 and the pump still works great and the stoppers are like new. Could not justify $100 for a Coravin with C02 cartridges. This creates enough of a vacuum for short term storage of red wine. Never used stoppers for more than 3 to 5 days, so can't say it's a long term solution but its sufficient when you have a bit left. If we know we won't have any wine for 2 or 3+ days, we pump it and store in the fridge. Overnight, no need to chill. It comes with 4 stoppers, plenty for most. There are more stoppers available if you need them. We still have the original stoppers, very durable. TIP: the best seal is when you moisten the rubber stoppers with water. The pump will let you know when you've got a good vacuum. It becomes difficult to pump.

Love this. I am the only wine drinker in the house, but can’t always drink a full bottle of wine in 2days. I mean I can! but I don’t always want to drink a bottle in the 2 days that an open bottle stays and keeps its flavor. This gadget makes the wine last sooo much longer. Easily makes an open bottle of wine last the week and keep its flavor. I am so happy this came into my life and I am not wasting wine anymore! The price is so inexpensive, but this gadget is so good, especially when considering how much wine it has saved me. Before, I would have to pour out the old wine, now it keeps and I enjoy it later, saving me so much vino! And let’s face it.. that is a priority! I highly recommend!!

Honestly, i can't think of anything to take any stars off for, good value for the money, the stoppers all seem to hold the air out well, and it's easy to use. It's held up well for about 6 bottles of wine, over the course of 2-3 months, so not a ton of use. I see it holding up well for the value I paid. Also I like the fitted foam it came in, i'd like to make a wood box for it to keep it in, saving the foam for that purpose! If the vendor made a more expensive version in a decent wood box for storage, i'd buy it! For comparison, I've had one or two others from other brands, this one seems as good or a bit better than those others I have used in the past.

I was looking for a wine vacuum that could be easily stored (in a cabinet, not on the counter), along with several bottle stoppers. My last wine vacuum was electric and stopped working after about 50 uses. I came across this set, and I love it! It's so easy to use. You place the stoppers on the bottle and pump 15-20 times until resistance is felt while pumping. When reopening the bottle, release the air with the tab at the top of the stopper and open the bottle. The wine stays fresh, and I also love that I received more than a couple of stoppers. Highly recommend.

While it may help preserve the wine's freshness for a few extra days, it falls short of being a game-changer. Over a week, the wine still loses its body and flavors, making it less effective for long-term preservation. While it may be a convenient option for short-term use, it might not be money worthy.

La EZBASICS è una pompa sottovuoto pensata per chi ama gustare il vino con calma, anche su più giorni. Il corpo in acciaio inox satinato dà un bel tocco premium, e include 4 tappi riutilizzabili, compatibili con la maggior parte delle bottiglie standard di vino rosso e bianco. Come funziona? Basta inserire il tappo, pompare per 15–20 secondi fino a sentire resistenza, e il gioco è fatto: l’aria viene estratta, il vino è al sicuro. Il sigillo ermetico conserva aroma e sapore per fino a una settimana. Per rimuovere il tappo, si preme la valvola al centro — semplicissimo. Molto utile anche l’indicatore rotante della data integrato su ogni tappo, così ricordi quando hai stappato la bottiglia. Non richiede batterie o manutenzione. L’unico limite segnalato da alcuni utenti? Le guarnizioni possono cedere col tempo se non trattate con cura o usate su colli molto larghi. Un leggero inumidimento dei tappi prima dell’uso migliora la tenuta. In sintesi: un accessorio elegante, funzionale e comodissimo da regalare o regalarsi. Se ami bere bene, ma non tutto in una sera, questa pompa fa proprio al caso tuo.

It looks like someone has spent time conceiving and designing this product. I love the fact that it was effortless to remove the air , not like the plastic product I had bought earlier and I am using this a lot. This is why it was a great idea that a product made out of stainless steel. The idea of the date marker is great. It is no longer a pity to open a bottle of wine to drink a glass or two. I discovered that unlike other manufacturers, EZBasics sell spare corks as well (pack of six it is a shame to throw away your product because you run out of corks or you lost them) and they also sell other wine products like an electric cork unscrewer with other accessories which I have marked in my wish list for my secret santa.
