A Really Difficult Assembly
This chair... was incredibly difficult to assemble. One does not simply read the (poor) instructions and, volia, a chair!First off, the packaging wasn't too bad. I've read all the EOE chair reviews and thought, "Damn, this is gonna be bad". To my surprise only one major blemish was on the actual (I'm a wood worker, this is real veneer) wooden veneer. And honestly, they need to do better on their manufacturing floor because the package was well shipped. Metal pieces were bubble wrapped, then foam wrapped, then separated by foam in the box from the wood veneer components. The package arrived with foam on top and bottom where the veneer was exposed. So it has to be a floor and manufacturing issue. The leather seems to be real when comparing it to a PU leather chair and it's perfectly white. Cool to the touch and thick too. Foam is hard but I bet it will soften up. There's an indentation on the armrest where I believe the metal legs were compressed on it. Each arm rest came in its own sealed bag.It looks like someone looked inside, inspected it and improved the shippability (new word) and resealed it and that was nice. I also received a slight discount on the chair, perhaps due to the blemish or a special promotion. Whatever, this chair is nice, looks nice, feels high quality for $600. Remember, the original costs $4500. I think it's a quality STEAL.BUTTTTTTT... He/she who trespasses these here waters must be aware of assembly, lest ye spend yer dearly minutes in Davy Jones Locker.I have an advanced engineering degree from an accredited college with a Master's Thesis and a published journal paper, and damn I had a hard time assembling this.Honestly, the instructions are enough to get by. Some more verbiage would be nice, with a step by step process. But I was able to figure out my own mistakes from looking at the instructions. What I couldn't foresee were the freaking armrests. They are a pain to install. Took me three hours to install some armrests! They're just blind holes, and you assemble them after the rest of the chair is built. But the foam padding and the screw angles makes it incredibly difficult for normal assembly. It's basically guess and check, and since that wooden veneer is so close to the holes you have to have a gentle, yet firm grace when committing to tightening the screws. Additionally, you have to be an engineer to get these damn angles correct! The holes aren't perfectly straight, so the screws come in at an angle.(You could take a saw to the mounting plate and create a few slip holes, pre screw the screws, and slide the armrests on. You can't return it if you do that, but maybe that's something for the manufacturer)So, it's a great product made with real materials. That's why the four stars. You must seriously consider your engineering skills before attempting this assembly, however. Otherwise, only a single blemish and luxurious mid century style for 600!

Beautiful chair Easy to assemble!
Arrived on time and very well packed. The instructions were at the very top, simple and easy to understand. Taking my time it took about an hour to assemble. The trickiest part was bolting on the armrests. Don’t be put off by the first review, if you don’t have the instructions you can find an assembly video on YouTube.

This is a good quality reproduction of a classic chair
This is a good quality reproduction of a classic chair. I have to say the assembly instructions are difficult to read, as they appear to have been photocopied a few too many times, and the armrests were extremely challenging to bolt to the body of the chair. But if you take your time, it will come together, and the end result is a beautiful and comfortable piece of furniture that is a fraction of the price of the official/original.

Damaged parts, questionable leather, reasonably comfortable
I received this chair with dents on the metallic legs and chipping on the laminate on the back. When I called Amazon for replacement parts, they couldn’t find or give me the contact information of the manufacturer. The only option was to return it for a refund, which is a huge pain especially given that, as other reviews point out, assembly isn’t easy and I paid an assembly man to assemble it. Beware of buying this chair: if you are lucky and it comes with fine parts, it’s a fine purchase for the price point. Else you are on the hook for putting it all back together into a box.The leather on this chair is advertised as “genuine” but it doesn’t smell like leather and water drops bead up, so I’m not sure if it’s real leather (even “genuine leather” that is lower quality than full or top grain leather). The upholstery does feel tough for what it’s worth, so maybe it will last. It’s comfortable to sit on though a tad too firm. It tilts easily on its hind legs when you press your back against it, so it’s not or doesn’t feel fall-proof stable, but for normal sitting, it feels pretty sturdy. No idea how it compares on comfort and stability to the original Eames chair by which this chair is “inspired”.

A terrible disappointment
Product was of the poorest quality. I believe this is the $300 model that has just been priced up. It arrived severely damaged and missing hardware. Vaneer was scratched, dented, and had inconsistent finish. Coushin was damaged and dented. Chair did not include all of the screws (-3 short) needed for assembly and it was a bear to assemble (to the degree that it could be assembled) because not everything lined up properly. Chair sits at a bit less than a 15 degree angle, the padding is extremely hard, the ottoman sits higher than the chair which wrenches ones knees out of place by elevating the legs over the rest of the body. Instead of rubber shocks it has steel shocks that are painted black. Poly is only on exterior and is inconsistently spread and rough - the interior plywood had mildew on it. The leather is fake. I had low expectations when I purchased this chair, I didn't expect perfection, and I honestly just hoped all the pieces would be present and that it would be a comfortable reading chair - it missed on every single possible dynamic and at nearly $600 is a tremendous rip off. It is a $200-300 chair.

Chair is nice, assembly is difficult.
Chair came nicely packaged in thick, padded cardboard, bubble wrap, and foam padding; very nice. Instructions were lacking (one pager), however, not extremely difficult...except for installing the arm pads, after about 20 minutes of fiddling, success. So, most of the assembly time went directly to the arms. Also, on my chair at least, Left and Right arms are as if your standing in front of and LOOKING at the chair, and not as if you were sitting on the chair.
