Outstanding case at an excellent Price!
I bought one of these for my Macbook Air 2011 and I can say the following:1. Visually its impressive. The Faux Leather looks and feels like the real deal. I was worried about putting any case on my Air as I didn't want to detract away from it's appearance. No worries on this point. The case actually makes my Air stand out from the rest.2. Quality - Although I haven't had the case for more than a week, I expect it to last for quite a while (and if it doesn't, another 18 bucks buys a new one).3. Protection - I'm sure there are other cases that can protect your air better than this one, specifically the clamshell type cases that snap around it to cover it completely. That being said, this case will protect the top and bottom extremely well. When the case is closed, only the left and right sides are exposed (the benefit here is that all the ports are open even when the case is closed). This is not an Otter Box, so if your expecting to be able to drop your macbook air from 10 feet, this case may not be for you. I can tell you though that having this case on here gives me a large degree of comfort knowing that the surfaces of my laptop are protected from scratches and nicks...4. Wrist Rest - When I purchased this case, I didn't realize it had this feature. The wrist rest is built into the case (the bottom part of the Mac Air slides into it). It has a cutout to expose the trackpad (which is fully functional) and is made of thin faux leather. I think it's not there for comfort, but rather to protect the Mac Air where your wrists rest. I know I've had several laptops that lose their luster there from repeated use and I was happy that this case will help keep my Air looking good for years to come.5. Stand - Built into the bottom of the case towards the back there is a pop-out stand. I assume this is to prop up the laptop when using it on a desk to help keep your hands in a "ergonomic" position. I very rarely use my Air at a desk (writing this review from my couch), but I tried it out and it was able to hold the laptop up even while typing a long email. Again, I wasn't expecting this, so I view it as sort of a bonus like the wrist rest.6. Price - I mean come on...it's 18 bucks and free shipping (if your a Prime subscriber). I was seriously considering buying the $79 Book Book case before I saw this one and decided that for the price I'd give it a shot. I'm SO glad I did. This is my first review of anything I've ever purchased on Amazon (been buying here for 5 years or so) so that ought to tell you something. Oh...and I bought a second one for my wife's 2010 Macbook Air as well.

Won't Get Fooled Again (Updated)
I wanted something light but yet protective. I had already ordered a cheaper case that was half the price of this one, but hadn't received it yet. So I thought I'd better get something better. Well, both products showed up on the same day, one from SmackTom at $13.30 including shipping, and this one from Amazon at almost twice the price. Guess what, the two were identical. So I thought I was getting something better (you always get what you pay for?), but in this case, I got the same thing. I don't have any complaints with it at this time. It is light and serves the purpose. Apparently who ever manufactures them just stamps other companies names on them to sell.- - - - UPDATE - - - -I had bought my daughter the BookBook case at 4 times the price since I didn't know if she'd like this case. Turns out she uses this case instead of that one since it holds the computer on both ends so it doesn't slip out of the case, is easy to work from the computer while in the case, and even has a flap on the bottom to sit the computer up at an angle. She said it's very quick and easy to carry around and use wherever you are, no fumbling around, and works well. So, I'll be returning the unused, more expensive BookBook case. I also move the case from 3 Star to 4 Star based on this.

Very nice and soft
I bought this for my Samsung Chromebook after looking up the dimension difference.Chromebook: 11.4"x8.09"x0.69" vs.Macbook Air: 11.8"x7.56"x0.68"Since I havent been able to find something for the Chromebook like this, I decided to buy this and alter the spine to make it fit. My result is not perfect but it was a solution!I love the stitch-work and the exterior feels soft and cushioned. It looks elegant and classy (minus the spine I've altered haha). There is also a part (flap) on the bottom that you can open to serve as a laptop elevator. The button is magnetic and clips well.If this company makes a case specifically for the Chromebook one day, I'd definitely buy it!Overall, I'd recommend trying this case out if you're looking for a sleek way to carry your Macbook Air. It looks fairly expensive as well.If I ever get my hands on an Air, I'd definitely purchase this case again!

great for protecting your macbook air from everyday wear and tear
my husband is tough on his macbook air - bangs it around (it carries it in his backpack everywhere) and he eats over it (i.e., lots of crumbs) - so there's only so much you can do to protect a laptop from that sort of abuse.but i bought the case-crown book cover case for his laptop - and i couldn't be happier. it slips right on and stays on. it's got some padding around it to protect it from bangs, and while it cannot protect the keyboard from crumbs, it does a great job at protecting the air from everyday in and out of the backpack, and it looks good, too. (btw - my husband doesn't use it, but it has a little "kickstand" in the bottom back of the case that is at the ready, if you like that feature.)

Very effective
My son's school loans out Apple MAcBooks to students (starting this year). I took up the insurance to protect me from having to buy a whole new PC if something happend, but I would still have to pay a deductible. I was very concerned for the protection of this since it will be carried around constantly and in and out of back packs. Most covers for these MAcBooks seem to be just a partial cover for the back and seemed more decorative than protective. This fits the PC like a glove and I feel it is much more protected. He used it happily almost all year and I like that it holds it pretty secure. However, for whatever reason he has been carrying it around bare for a few weeks now. He's 15.........I think he sometimes does these things....just because. Anyway, very very nice product at what was an unbelievabley good price when I bought it compared to everything else I looked at.
