Mancini SIGNATURE Luxurious Italian Leather 17.3" Laptop Briefcase

I have been shopping for some time for a nice briefcase, reading the headline and the item description I decided to buy this "Italian" bag. When it arrived I discovered that it is not Italian, but made in China. The leather looks shiny but is a bit stiff. It is hard to open the top of the bag to fit your papers or laptop; it will be dragged along the clinched zippers (not good). From the look of the leather I think it will scratch easily. No warranty period stated in the description either, hope the seller can update it and also update the description so everyone knows what to expect. I hope this review helps everyone make an informed decision of what they are buying.

I recently received this briefcase for graduation; it is beyond what I expected in quality, form, & function! The design is excellent, with the bag opening wide enough to retrieve documents and other items normally carried (as opposed to many of the other ones on the market). The color is perfect-just enough red to appear luxurious but not so much that it looks cheap. The quality of the construction appears first-rate, as does the leather itself. Compared to other "top-of-the-line" models from other manufacturers, this Manicini case is a genuine bargain! It would be perfect for a lawyer, or other professional needing a bag worthy of their needs.The only negative thing I can say is, unfortunately, the advice given to me by some un-named person at Mancini, who, after being asked the best conditioner/treatment to maintain this fine leather, replied (paraphrased), " I think your best bet would be some kind of silicone-based product made for leather." Since I've never owned a good quality leather product such as this before, I had reservations about the way this question was answered. Upon researching leather treatment, I found several sources which contradicted the use of any silicone-based product on good leather. Ethically, I can't state the brand of product I wound up going with (do your own research and you will find there are many other options/choices of brands), but it was not silicone-based, instead being the product of a company which specializes in products for leather (and made in the USA as well!). I would think that Mancini would be able to provide better advice than a "best bet," but other than that, the purchasing experience was great! I would recommend this (or any other Mancini) product to anyone. It is good enough to be passed down to my son years from now, providing it receives the care good leather requires.

Had this for 1.5 yrs. notepad, MacBook Pro and some papers. Ripped inside where straps are attached! Cardboard under the leather. Ripped so strap hanging on by leather! Nice and functional but way too expensive for 1.5 yrs of use ! Bad design. Not recommended.

This is a beautiful briefcase - purchased for my husband's birthday. Matches his Medici Leather suitcase. Great price compared to other similar cases.
