Komelon SL225; 25' x 1" Classic Self-Lock Tape Measure

I bought this tool a year and a half ago. The quality of this thing is perfect and is built to last! I love the silver and black colors. The rubber grip gives it a nice feel, and the big numbers make this tool nice to use. I not big fan of the big ugly yellow looking tape measures, so this looks nice in my collection of tools. The self lock is of high quality, so I imagine this will last long time. This is one of those great quality tools for the perfect price, which is rare now and days. I recommend this tool to anybody.. I bought this tape because of the auto-locking feature. I was tired of using tapes which required pushing a button to lock them down. This measure works smoothly and is very easy to read. I am do-it-yourselfer homeowner so, it will probably last a long time. It's good looking and rugged, as well.

I bought two of these during a flooring project that required a lot of measuring and cutting. I had several other name brand tape measures that either the lock mechanism wasn't holding the tape open or the unit just wouldn't sit flat and stable allowing you to mark the board without holding it. These are nice looking, well made, and easy to read. Keep in mind they work opposite as most. The tape stays open and you push the button to retract it. They worked great at first but they do slip when they get hot. We had a 80 plus degree day and the tape was in full sun and it started to slip. How hard can it be to design a system that won't slip under any circumstances. Arrrgh. Works great when it is not hot so 3 stars overall.

I was happy with the price and quality of the tape measure. I like the auto lock and the numbers are nice and big for any people with eye problems. Does everything a tape measure should for about half the cost of what home depot wanted on a product with no auto lock feature.

I love the "self-lock" feature on Komelon's measuring tapes. Extremely smooth operation, and very durable feel. Compact & light design, much lighter than most 25ft tapes. Best tape measure I've ever used.

It's truly a great tape. Has been more abused than some I've gotten at Home Depot and Lowe's. Holding up and still giving great results. Only wish the blade was stronger for better distant and angle measuring with one guy.

Dropped it and tape permanently bent. Pros: -The tape self locks nicely when you pull it to the length you want. Push the easy button to have it retract. Interesting system, I now prefer it. -Cool silver color, big numbers Cons: -Lines that indicate where inches are are super thin, not visible in dim light (under sink etc.). -Cheap tape material, bent when dropped, useless now.

I don't know how many tape measures I have, but I manage to make them disappear. So I ordered this one as I couldn't find the others. I'm very glad I did. This is a really good one. The best one I've had. The numbers are big!!! There are specialized markings for studs, etc. You just pull the tape out and it stays. When you press the button it reels in, but it doesn't pull so fast that the tape edge would cut you (I've had that happen).

Update : Lowing to 1 star after usage. Pro : Love the self lock tape. Con : This has only inches not in centimeter, I thought I knew before ordering. Useless now,
