I bought this umbrella for both golf and daily life. I live in southern California, so primarily use it to keep sun off me during rounds of golf. We do, however, occasionally get rain. The umbrella performed very well for the dozen-or-so uses I got out of it in the first 10 months since purchase. Since that time, though, the locking mechanism that keeps the umbrella open has repeatedly failed. All that needs to happen in order to fail is a slight jostling of the main umbrella shaft. Twice in the last week I've had it open during a rain and had the mechanism fail, causing the umbrella to fail and funnel water straight down the back of my shirt. Not cool.It's too bad, since this WAS a great umbrella for a while and the size is fantastic.

This umbrella has an amazingly big canopy. It appears to be well made. I really like the UV lining under the canopy. Lightweight too.

Bought the 68 inch in July, used it 6 or 7 times for shade and it works great for that. Can't say much for relief from the heat, when it's 100 degrees it's hot even in the shade of the umbrella but it does keep the harmful up Ray's off of you. Just used it in the rain (1st rain this year) and it kept me dry, no surprise there - this thing is big. A gust of wind came up and pulled it off of my push cart, it tumbled about half way down the fairway before I caught up to it, one of the arms snapped off about a 1/2 inch from the end where the canopy attaches - so needless to say it's a little bit floppy now! Sent a note to Procella regarding it 3 days ago inquiring if it could be repaired and have not gotten ANY response back! With all the raves about their customer service I at least expected a reply that it's not covered or it will be $XX plus shipping or something! I really was surprised that it snapped from tumbling down the fairway, it has gotten away before without incident other than being unhappy about chasing it down - I didn't secure it to the cart because I could easily see it breaking if it blows the cart over and hits the ground with the cart and clubs, this thing is a sail! So it appears to me that all the "customer service" references on their website is really nothing more than lip service! Now that I have a damaged umbrella in my possession and the rainy season is coming in, I think you can guess what I WON'T be replacing it with! I'll find a cheaper one that doesn't claim to have "fantastic customer service" and buy two and treat them as the disposable devices that they are!

I own 4 other Procella umbrellas. They are of excellent quality, easy to operate and well worth the cost. This last umbrella, which is the 68" model, was very difficult to open and close. My previous umbrella's would automatically open with the push of a button, but this one is manual open and the release button on the pole is extremely difficult to push to open and to close. I thought it possible that I was doing something wrong, and looked for instructions but there were none. I'm a pretty strong guy, but anyone with weak hands, will find this one difficult to operate. Otherwise this item is of excellent quality but someone dropped the ball on this one. Sorry I only gave it 4 stars but I'm still a loyal customer!

Umbrella is high quality. Loved the canopy size, the umbrella sling bag, but I'm returning it. Because this umbrella does not have a button to open and as an average sized female, it pinches my fingers when I open or close it. I just think if you are paying $40. something, it shouldn't hurt or at least be a little more user friendly. I consider this a big design flaw and I definitely would not let a 12 yrs old use it.

Haven't had the chance to test it's wind worthiness yet, but it makes a really good rain umbrella. I was hoping it was a push button automatic but it isn't. You can tell it's not a cheaply made umbrella for sure.

Great large cover! But it just won’t stay up in its fully open position.Im thinking that the weak point is the point where the upper clip meets the catch. It just keeps collapsing and dumping water all over me. Must have got a lemon! I’d like the the manufacturer to at least replace it or refund my money. Like my umbrellas. Not happy with this one!

Bought this for Golf, had previously bought a Titelist which was more expensive. But the Procella Umberella looks better quality. Have not had chance to try in the rain yet .

Lovely solid umbrella which has a great shoulder bag, after being out in the Scottish wind and rain several times now it has kept us dry.

Very versatile umbrella, comes with a handy carry strap. We use it for the beach, the kids love to shelter behind it!

Great umbrella very strong would definitely recommend
